Precautions
It is very important that your doctor check you closely while you are receiving this medicine. This will allow your doctor to see if the medicine is working properly and to decide if you should continue to receive it.
This medicine may cause serious allergic reactions such as trouble breathing, feeling of warmth, or redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest. If these side effects occur, tell your doctor right away.
While receiving this medicine, you will be exposed to radiation. If you have any questions about this, talk to your doctor.
Serious side effects of Vizamyl
Along with its needed effects, flutemetamol f-18 (the active ingredient contained in Vizamyl) may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.
Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur while taking flutemetamol f-18:

- feeling of warmth
- redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest

- Common (1% to 10%): Flushing (2%), increased blood pressure (1%)[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
- Common (1% to 10%): Nausea (1%)[Ref]
Hypersensitivity
- Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Hypersensitivity reaction (0.1%)[Ref]
Nervous system
- Uncommon (0.1% to 1%): Headache (1%), dizziness (1%)[Ref]
