As well as its needed effects, florbetaben f-18 (the active ingredient contained in Neuraceq) may cause unwanted side effects that require medical attention.

If any of the following side effects occur while taking florbetaben f-18, check with your doctor or nurse immediately:

Incidence not known:
  • Fast heartbeat
  • fever
  • hives, itching, or rash
  • hoarseness
  • irritation
  • joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  • redness of the skin
  • swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  • tightness in the chest
  • troubled breathing or swallowing

Minor Side Effects

Some florbetaben f-18 side effects may not need any medical attention. As your body gets used to the medicine these side effects may disappear. Your health care professional may be able to help you prevent or reduce these side effects, but do check with them if any of the following side effects continue, or if you are concerned about them:

Less common:
  • Pain, redness, or skin irritation at the injection site

General

The most frequently observed adverse reactions in subjects were injection site reactions consisting of erythema, irritation and pain. All adverse reactions were mild to moderate in severity and of short duration.[Ref]

Common (1% to 10%): Injection/application site erythema, irritation, pain[Ref]
