Along with its needed effects, lotilaner ophthalmic may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

More common side effects

  • burning and stinging of the eye

Less common side effects

  • blurred vision
  • feeling like there is something in your eye
  • increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  • swelling, redness, pain, or tenderness of the eyelid
  • tearing and irritation of the eye

General adverse events

The most frequently reported side effects included instillation site stinging (10%) and burning (10%).[Ref]
