What is sebetralstat?
Sebetralstat is used to treat acute (sudden) attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in in adults and children at least 12 years old.
Sebetralstat may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.
Sebetralstat side effects
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives, difficult breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Before taking this medicine
Some drugs should not be used with sebetralstat. Your treatment plan may change if you also use certain other medicines for infections, seizures, birth control, high cholesterol, organ transplant rejection, prevention of nausea and vomiting, HIV, high blood pressure or heart problems.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had:

taken any other medication; or
It is not known if sebetralstat will harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.
Ask a doctor if it is safe to breastfeed while using this medicine.
How should I take sebetralstat?
Follow all directions on your prescription label and read all medication guides or instruction sheets. Never use more than your recommended dose. Use the medicine exactly as directed.
Take sebetralstat at the first sign of an attack. Follow your doctor's instructions very carefully.
You may need to take another dose of sebetralstat 3 hours after the first dose if your symptoms do not improve, come back, or if they get worse.
Store in the original package at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
What happens if I miss a dose?
Sebetralstat is used when needed. If you are on a dosing schedule, skip any missed dose. Do not use two doses at one time.
What happens if I overdose?
Seek emergency medical attention or call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222.
What should I avoid while taking sebetralstat?
Follow your doctor's instructions about any restrictions on food, beverages, or activity.
What other drugs will affect sebetralstat?
Sometimes it is not safe to use certain medicines at the same time. Some drugs can affect your blood levels of other drugs you use, which may increase side effects or make the medicines less effective.
Tell your doctor about all your other medicines, especially:
