Drug Interaction Report
3 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- entrectinib
- flibanserin
Interactions between your drugs
flibanserin entrectinib
Applies to: flibanserin, entrectinib
Entrectinib may increase the blood levels of flibanserin. In some cases, this may increase the risk of side effects such as drowsiness and decreases in blood pressure that can lead to dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and accidental injury. You should take flibanserin at bedtime to minimize the risk of these effects. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
flibanserin food
Applies to: flibanserin
Do not use alcohol too close to the dosing time of flibanserin. Doing so can cause excessive drowsiness and decreases in blood pressure, which may lead to dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and accidental injury. Take flibanserin at bedtime to minimize the risk of these effects. It is recommended that you stop drinking alcohol at least two hours before taking flibanserin; otherwise, you should just skip the flibanserin dose that evening. Alcohol should not be consumed until at least the morning after taking flibanserin at bedtime. Because grapefruit juice can significantly increase the blood levels of flibanserin, you should also avoid the consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment. Talk to your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
entrectinib food
Applies to: entrectinib
Do not consume grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or Seville oranges during treatment with entrectinib. Doing so can significantly increase the blood levels of entrectinib and increase the risk and/or severity of side effects such as dizziness; confusion; hallucinations; problems with concentration, attention, thinking, and memory; mood changes; insomnia; drowsiness; liver problems; increased uric acid levels in the blood (hyperuricemia); congestive heart failure; fluid retention and swelling; changes in electrical activity of the heart (a condition known as QT prolongation, which may lead to irregular heart rhythm that can be life-threatening); vision problems; and low red or white blood cell counts. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Therapeutic duplication warnings
No duplication warnings were found for your selected drugs.
Therapeutic duplication warnings are only returned when drugs within the same group exceed the recommended therapeutic duplication maximum.
Drug Interaction Classification
Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
