Using zafirlukast together with aspirin may increase the effects of zafirlukast. Contact your doctor if you experience worsening asthma symptoms, skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness, nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes). If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Zafirlukast should be taken on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal unless otherwise directed by your doctor. You may experience reduced absorption of zafirlukast in the presence of food. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.

Ask your doctor before using aspirin together with ethanol (alcohol). Do not drink alcohol while taking aspirin. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by aspirin.
