Tagamet is used in the treatment of human papilloma virus; duodenal ulcer; erosive esophagitis; gerd; duodenal ulcer prophylaxis (and more), and belongs to the drug class H2 antagonists. There is no proven risk in humans during pregnancy. Tagamet 800 mg is not a controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act (CSA).
