Topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatories

What are Topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatories

Topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatories work by blocking the COX enzymes which produce prostaglandins in the cells, thereby reducing inflammation and pain in the body. Topically they are used to treat pain and other symptoms of arthritis of the joints such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain. They may also be used to treat actinic keratosis, a skin problem that may become cancerous if untreated.
