Usual Adult Dose for:
- Enterobiasis
- Pinworm Infection (Enterobius vermicularis)
- Hookworm Infection (Necator or Ancylostoma)
- Trichostrongylosis
- Moniliformis Infection

11 mg/kg base orally once as a single dose
Maximum dose: 1 g/dose
Some Experts Recommend: 11 mg/kg base orally once as a single dose

Comments:
- Recommended as a regimen for E vermicularis (pinworm) infection
- This dose should be repeated in 2 weeks.
- Since family members are usually infected, the entire household should be treated; retreatment after 14 to 21 days may be necessary.

Administration advice:
- Can administer at any time of day, with or without meals; may administer alone or with milk or juice
- Can mix the oral suspension with milk or fruit juice
- Shake oral suspension well before use.
Storage requirements:
- Store at 20C to 25C (68F to 77F); excursions permitted to 15C to 30C (59F to 86F).
- Do not freeze.
General:
- Pyrantel pamoate 144 mg is equivalent to 50 mg pyrantel base.
- Use of a laxative is not necessary before, during, or after administration of this drug.
Patient advice:
- Read the package insert/product information carefully before use.
- Administer only according to directions; do not exceed recommended dose unless directed by physician.
- Administer 1 time as a single dose; do not repeat treatment unless directed by physician.
