Lymphir Disease Interactions
There are 3 disease interactions with Lymphir (denileukin diftitox).
Denileukin diftitox (applies to Lymphir) edema
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Fluid Retention
Denileukin diftitox can cause capillary leak syndrome, which could result in edema. Some patients required hospitalization and others intervention to prevent hospitalization. Administration of IV fluids may be necessary to maintain organ perfusion and blood pressure. It is recommended to regularly assess patients for weight gain, new onset or worsening of edema. Denileukin diftitox should be administered cautiously in patients with fixed fluid requirements and/or those adversely affected by fluid overload.
Denileukin diftitox (applies to Lymphir) liver dysfunction
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Liver Disease
The use of denileukin diftitox increase serum alanine aminotransferase or aspartate aminotransferase. It is recommended to monitor liver function tests and an albumin reading should be obtained prior to initiation of each course of therapy. Therapy with denileukin diftitox should be withhold if serum albumin levels are less than 3.0 g/dL. Care should be exercised when using this agent in patients at risk of liver disease.
Denileukin diftitox (applies to Lymphir) visual disturbances
Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Visual Defect/Disturbance
Cases of loss of visual acuity, usually with loss of color vision, with or without retinal pigment mottling have been reported with the use of denileukin diftitox. It is recommended to perform an ophthalmological evaluation consisting of best corrected visual acuity, and other evaluations as appropriate for new onset of severe visual loss. Care should be exercised when prescribing denileukin diftitox patients with visual disturbances.
