Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro for weight loss and also for type 2 diabetes. I started taking it in February 2024. I have lost 124 lbs total. It has been a lifesaver, but I have been experiencing a lot of side effects lately. I am not sure if it is due to the medicine or something else. I have been sick also, so it could be that. I cannot walk without severe exhaustion and vomiting sometimes. I have trouble breathing most of the time. Even though I have lost all of this weight and I am the smallest I have ever been, I feel sicker than I ever have been. I just wonder if anyone else feels like this? I don't know why I feel so bad."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Type 2 - I had been on Ozempic. It made me vomit/diarrhea, had Charley horses and hand tremors, and I was belching acid. After 3 months, my Endo switched me to Mounjaro, stating it was stronger, but many people tolerate it better. Week one, I was sick six days. All the same symptoms I had on Ozempic, only more severe. Heart rate 15 beats higher per minute. Week two, I was sick five days. Week three, within 12 hours, all the same symptoms began, and more. The vomiting was severe (mouth and nose). The belching was rank smelling/tasting. Diarrhea. My appetite was definitely curbed. My belly sounded like a flood of water flowing through my innermost pipes but felt numb. Eyes were so dry. My watch alerted me that at night my respiration rate was dipping to 7.5. (Did not even know my watch tracked that!) My heart rate dipped to 45. My blood sugar went to 43. Felt like I was not going to breathe or control peeing. And more! Day five, I ended up in the hospital in AFIB with a high heart rate. ICU."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I just finished my first month of Mounjaro 2.5 mg. I did experience some side effects on the first day: nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, but the second day was better. After eating a small meal, I experienced bad sulfur-like burps throughout the day. So I took Pepto Bismol, and that worked like a charm! So before each one of my injections, I take a dose of it the first half hour before with no problems now."

I have been on 5 mg for 16 weeks due to a shortage of 7.5 mg, so weight loss has slowed down considerably, but I am not gaining! For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "The best thing that has ever happened to me. Genuinely. I started in August at 264 lbs, now in March I'm 175 lbs. I have about 25 more pounds to lose, I'm just now hitting my plateau. I'm honestly very comfortable and happy at this weight, so I am not too stressed about the scale for reasons other than aesthetics. The first 3 months, I did throw up anything that wasn't saltine crackers, but things got better. I feel nauseous occasionally, but I don't actually vomit anymore. It is important to note that this is not a magic potion, you will not lose weight if you continue to eat junk. If I have an off day, I could be 3 lbs heavier the next day. My weight fluctuations are more than they were when I was heavier. So you need to help the medication help you. I finally feel like a normal person. I finally have normal eating habits. Food no longer controls me. I will never let anyone make me feel guilty for taking this. I see this as a medication like an antidepressant. I have my life back."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started using Mounjaro in March 2023, with a 2.5 mg dose, for weight loss. I shifted to 5 mg after 2 weeks; I stayed with each dose for around 2-3 months. I lost 10 kg by August (6 mo.). I had a freeze in weight loss for 5 weeks, then I lost 1.8 kg in 2 weeks when I took 10 mg. In terms of side effects, I experienced them during the first weeks of every upgrade in dose; like nausea and sometimes vomiting, headache, stomach pain, constipation and diarrhea, laziness, body ache, mood change; the worst was with 10 mg. As I have urticaria, I experienced an allergy at the needle site after week 10, which resolved in 3 days every time. This week I have pelvic, vaginal, and lower abdominal pain similar to period pain, although I have been menopausal for 4 years! I am happy about the results with minimal side effects."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been using this wonderful drug for my type 2 diabetes since 2021, and before starting this medication program, my A1C was 8.7, my blood sugar levels were 300-400, I was getting diabetic cysts, and my weight was 250 lbs. My health was deteriorating, and I was told by my doctors that I was morbidly obese. Then my endocrinologist prescribed Mounjaro. At first, I vomited a lot during the week, but now I’ve been on it for 3 years, and I just hope my insurance continues to cover this medication for me because I feel like it has saved my life. I experience side effects within 24 hours of injection administration, ranging from nausea, vomiting, belching, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and dizziness. The side effects last about 24-36 hours. The medication definitely decreases my appetite and cravings. My doctor stopped my BP medication as I continue losing weight and my BP readings are good. I didn't know to tell my doctor that I have had a vein occlusion in my right eye quite a few years ago. I don't know if that is important or not. I don't think I am reading as well. Not sure."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I experienced some nausea, had severe stomach pains at times, vomiting, indigestion, and terrible sulfur burps. The appetite suppression is amazing, as I felt like a normal person not feeling hungry all the time. After my 2nd shot and even worse side effects, I told my doctor I noticed my eyes had jaundice, so he told me to stop taking it. It did lower my blood sugar levels, and I'm so disappointed my body couldn't tolerate this medication, as it would have helped me lose weight."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on week two of Tirzepatide and had nausea and vomiting almost every day. The vomiting is primarily at night, frequently accompanied by dry heaves, and can be intense. Diarrhea was the first week but better entering the second week. When I hit menopause, I had a very difficult time losing weight (I gained 20 pounds), even when on a clean diet with cardio four days a week. Since beginning meds, I have lost nine pounds and have very little to no appetite. My workouts are not as frequent due to the nausea and feeling tired. Even with negative side effects, I will stick with it in hopes my body will adjust. My weight gain has limited my ability to do my job, which requires a lot of bending and lifting. Just the nine pounds of weight loss has helped my knees not ache and more comfortable on the treadmill. I started at .25 mg, and the injection was no bother."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Extreme nausea and vomiting constantly. Only have 1-2 days per week that I feel decent. I’ve tried splitting my dosage each week, reduced the units that I inject, added a daily dose of omeprazole to help with the nausea/vomiting, and nothing seems to have helped. I’ve been on this journey since mid-Oct 2024 and it’s now toward the end of January. I kept thinking my body would get used to it eventually. I’ve lost from 167 lbs to 145. My plan going forward is to continue to lower the dose in hopes that I find a balance that works for me in order to continue to lose weight, but more importantly, to feel good doing it. I may be one of those few people who can’t use tirzepatide. Time will tell."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started the 2.5 Mounjaro injection prescribed by my doctor a week ago to help lose weight. I was happy that the injection was super easy and didn’t hurt at all. The first 2 days I felt great! I had zero appetite, even on the first day, and had to force myself to eat. By the 3rd day… it was a nightmare! I had nonstop diarrhea, the kind you get with colonoscopy prep stuff! I also experienced horrible, sulfur-like belching, especially when getting up in the morning, and had extreme pain in my lower back. Then, last night, I had extremely forceful vomiting, which is crazy because I don’t really have anything in my system! I still have the horrible diarrhea 7 days later, also pretty extreme fatigue, slight heartburn, and a nauseated feeling. I am just praying this stuff gets out of my system ASAP! I just wish someone could tell me how long before I feel better! I will not be using the rest of my Mounjaro injections after the experience I’ve had this first week."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was started on Mounjaro at the end of Jan 2023. My A1C was 10, and I am 41, about 5 ft 9 in. I weighed about 350 lbs. I had no energy, had sleep apnea, hurt all the time, and could not even walk without running out of breath. I was miserable. Finally, I talked to my doctor, and she decided to try me on this. After a little struggle getting insurance to cover it and get the med in stock at my pharmacy, I got going on this new journey. About 2 months in, I started having major diarrhea and vomiting. Had to take a break for a week and then started doing my injections in my thighs instead of my belly, and that has made it a lot more bearable. I do still get diarrhea and sulfur burps for 3, sometimes 4 days after my shot, but nothing major. Now my A1C is 6, my blood glucose averages 75, and I am weighing in at 270 lbs. I can walk now without running out of breath and without being in major pain. I have made other changes, such as watching what I eat, stopping drinking soda, and started trying to walk."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Mounjaro in August of '22. My doctor started me on it for Type 2 diabetes, but weight loss was also the goal. Started at 2.5 mg and now I’m on 15 mg. So far, I’ve lost 80 pounds with no effort. I’ve had little to no appetite. In regard to side effects, they’ve been very minimal. Some mild nausea, dry mouth, and constipation. I have vomited on 3 occasions, and it was due to drinking too much coffee, which made me too full. When reading reviews, please keep in mind that in terms of side effects, you just won’t know until you try the med. I personally have 2 other friends taking this, and their experiences have been pretty much like mine. Don’t let the horror stories scare you, because this medicine has been a true lifesaver for me."
