Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "It was rough in the beginning, with diarrhea, then constipation and heavy belching. The diarrhea ended after about a month, but constipation has continued. In addition to those symptoms, I experienced an undercurrent of nausea for several months, with it being more pronounced just after eating. After about eight months, the nausea abated for the most part. I started on the 2.5 and moved up in dosage every 2 months or so. I am entering month 10 and am on the 12.5 dosage. For the first 6-7 months, I lost approximately 1.5 lbs/wk, and over the last 2-3 months that has slowed down a little. I have lost a total of 50 lbs. The other side effect I've experienced is I sometimes have low blood sugar in the mornings, so I will have juice or something to help take care of it. It is easy to use, and despite the rough start, I am pleased with the results."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Mounjaro in November 2022. I am 61 years old, weigh 194.6 lbs, a post-menopausal female with no other health issues to note. Since then, I have lost approx. 50 lbs and feel absolutely GREAT! In addition to the Mounjaro, I took weekly B12 shots, a multivitamin, a magnesium supplement, apple cider vinegar capsules, and a chromium supplement. I took the last injection on May 2, 2023 (weighing 144.6 lbs) and have continued with supplements. After 1 month, I am weighing 146.4 lbs. I do find myself having cravings at times and could eat more, but have been able to discipline myself to continue to eat in moderation and try to be more active since I definitely feel more energetic. My goal is to maintain below 150 lbs. I am a huge fan of this drug and have experienced very few side effects while taking it. I did experience indigestion and some constipation relieved by the supplements listed above."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Mounjaro in July '22 after losing 50 pounds (243 to 193, 5'2") on Trulicity. I am now closing in on losing 50 pounds on Mounjaro (approaching 143 lbs) and can honestly say that it has changed my life. My cravings for sugar are nearly gone. I drink 2 protein shakes each day and have found eating healthy and eating smaller portion sizes easy. I am a person who had horrible hyperemesis gravidarum during pregnancy, so I knew I would have the side effect of being nauseous. And I do become quite nauseous for the 2 days after the injection. However, I am able to manage this pretty easily as it passes quickly. Going from 12.5 mg to 15 mg was too much for me. I do best on the 10 mg. I do get minor constipation and occasional tiredness, but overall I feel 100 times better than I did 100 pounds heavier and I am no longer in the diabetic range."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began my weight loss journey in late January 2024. Over the next 12 months, I lost 40 pounds. However, I've hit a plateau for the past four months, since the end of November 2024, and it's now February 25, 2025. I still need to lose at least another 40 pounds. Zepbound has been a significant help in my journey. My clothes fit much better, and I've gone from a size XXL to a medium. In addition to Zepbound, I also strength train, maintain a healthy diet, and track my calorie intake. The only side effects I've experienced with Zepbound are occasional acid reflux, mild nausea, and some constipation. Currently, I am on 12.5 mg, but my doctor has decided to update my dosage to the 15 mg to see how I do on that dosage. Hopefully, it will kick me over the plateau and I will end up losing the next 40 pounds that I need to. Other than that, I love Zepbound. I think it’s great."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "This product has been excellent for me. My A1C came down from 8.9 to 5.9 in about 6 months. I have a few adverse symptoms: constipation, some stomach issues, but nothing I can’t live with, considering the alternative of out of control A1C. Plus, I’ve lost 55 pounds."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started on Zepbound 8/16/24. Have concentrated on protein and vegetables, fruit, and occasional treat. Have lost 31 lbs as of 11/2/24. Side effects have been constipation, which was remedied with OTC collagen and senna. Occasional nausea, especially in the beginning of tx. No longer get hungry and, most importantly, no longer get the cravings for unhealthy food. Recently started walking as it is much easier now with 30+ pounds down. Signed up for 2 exercise classes: yoga and weights. Dilkind has been a game changer for me. Presently on 2.5 injections. Easy to use."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I am surprised by how quickly it has changed my appetite. My first injection of 2.5 mg was two days ago, and after a very small meal, I am completely full for hours. I’ve had constipation and feel bloated, or at least unpleasantly full. Hoping this will pass. I ate a bowl of turkey chili for dinner yesterday, and at noon today, I still have no desire (or room) to eat. I had a glass of water to take my morning meds and a cup of coffee this morning, and I’m still full."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Severe nausea and stomach pain within the first 2 days of taking, then settles the next 5. Always feel a pressure in the stomach - not pain, not really uncomfortable, just a noticeable presence. Constipation for 4-6 days despite taking extra fiber and water."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started 2.5 Mounjaro on 9/10/24. I lost 10 lbs in a month. I was taking Humalog at meals and Toujeo at night. I was using very little insulin because I would have low blood sugar if I took even half of my usual dose of Humalog. I had minor side effects, such as constipation and some gas pains. I took Gas-X and laxative as needed. Very little appetite. After 4 doses, my doctor increased my dose to 5 mg. After 2 doses, I am not taking any insulin and my average blood sugar is 134. I have lost 16 lbs and eating small meals. I feel full all the time. If I eat too much, I feel miserable. My side effects are still minor. Some gas at times."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve lost about a pound per week, starting with the smallest dose and leveling up every month. I started at 187 pounds and am down to 172. Side effects: constipation, belching, and fatigue (probably due to not eating enough). I like the pens and got over my fear of the needle. Sometimes it leaves a red welt in my tummy, but not usually. The worst part about it is the cost. My insurance doesn’t cover it, even though I was obese, had pre-diabetes, and sleep apnea (which I didn’t have when I was thinner). Imagine how many health issues could be solved if people could use this to lose weight."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "This medicine works really well in reducing my diabetes numbers, and it has helped to reduce food noise. I have lost about 25 pounds in the last 8 months; however, I just started working out 2 months ago. The only side effect I experience is some nausea and/or constipation, which sometimes occur 24-48 hours after injection and only last for about a day or so. I sometimes take a fiber supplement if I experience constipation. This medication has helped me, and I no longer take any other medication for my diabetes, and my labs have greatly improved."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "PROS: easy delivery system; decreased/normalized A1C; significant weight loss; improved daily glucose numbers; improved mobility; improved breathing/sleep apnea. CONS: SEVERE constipation (have a simple, daily 'bowel maintenance' plan with doctor to address this; works well); loss of muscle mass; pen disposal/recycling. Age: 45-54. Gender: Female. Race: African American. Start weight: 239. Current weight: 205 (down 6 sizes: 20 to 14). Height: 5'4''. Start A1C: 6.6. Current A1C: 5.3. My A1C is under 5.4. Started at 2.5 mg; increased to/stayed at 7.5 mg over 8 months to avoid losing weight faster than my skin could retract ('Ozempic butt'). I exercise 4 days a week; primarily weight training. I do an annual DEXA scan to evaluate my body composition (out of pocket). I've lost muscle mass using Mounjaro since my last annual DEXA scan (down 7 lbs of muscle, 34 lbs of fat). The muscle loss was really surprising and disappointing, since I always use weights (up to 60 lbs for leg exercises) when working out."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "My A1C was 11 in December 2022. By March 2023, it went down to 7, and I lost 35 lbs. It is June 2023, my A1C is 6, and I have lost 48 lbs. I experienced some nausea and some constipation. Watching my portions and staying away from fried, fatty foods was key. I’m on the maintenance dose of 15 mg and feeling great."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Many friends have had various reactions to the shots. One had severe cramps and stopped using. In a couple of weeks, the cramps went away. I am on 2.5 going into my 4th week. I get some stomach gurgling, but the main reaction is constipation. I was very regular before usage. I use OTC drugs to manage the problem. After the 4th week, I am going on 5.0. My weight loss so far is 7 lbs. I started at 219. To go along with the shots, I put myself on a low-carb diet. Lots of protein and fiber."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking Mounjaro on September 1, 2022. My starting weight was 192 lbs, I'm 38 years old and 5'3". By February 2023, I weighed in at 135 lbs. I experience severe nausea, sour stomach, sulfur burps, and constipation on every dose I was on. I was only able to go to 5 mg, as 7.5 mg about done me in. I went back to the 5 mg. I've always been active, worked out, etc., but after a few life events, I struggled to lose 10 lbs! This was a game changer for me. It quieted the food noise, the cravings, etc. I was able to eat just a few bites of whatever meal and then done. I didn't want to eat! My nighttime snacking is gone. I didn't even like the smell of McDonald's french fries. Now, my mom tried it also, but she never had any of the horrible symptoms, and the food noise quieted a little bit. She got up to 7.5 mg but couldn't get anything in stock for the 10 mg. She didn't lose the significant weight that I did and has now switched to Ozempic due to stock issues."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "It's easy to use, however, the side effects are horrible. I have had all of the listed side effects. Constipation, nausea, and vomiting are the worst. It feels like a rock in my gut, however, it's a little better than Ozempic, which I puked every day. So I'm sticking with the Mounjaro for now."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Mounjaro has been wonderful in reducing my blood sugar. However, the side effects feel like sometimes they are going to be the death of me. I experience nausea, constipation, and stomach pain. But if this is how it has to be to control my sugar, I can handle it. The only real trouble I am having is being able to get it through my pharmacy as it is often out of stock due to people using it for weight loss. I think diabetics should be given the first chance to receive this medication."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "67 yr old male. Started at 270. Took approximately 5-6 months to drop down to 220. Average weight loss was about 10 pounds per month. Started at 2.5 mg (weekly) and gradually went up to 15 mg. Now that I have reached my goal, I have reduced the dosage to 10 mg every 10 days for 6 more dosages. The biggest challenge was the constipation. I finally found an herbal supplement (Dr. Schulze’s Intestinal Formula #1 on Amazon) that worked amazingly! With rapid weight loss, my blood pressure has reduced to almost borderline low. But with hydration and weight now stabilizing, it is normalizing at about 110/70. I am concerned about the potential long-term side effects that are now popping up… not sure if they are legitimate or not. But too late now. Working out consistently and eating small portions will help me to keep from bouncing back up in weight. Off Zepbound completely now…and have been able to stay near 220. Drink water! Occasional Tums were needed during the first couple of months."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "Using this medication for over a year now, and at first, I experienced nausea and an upset stomach until I found that using different parts of the body to inject into may help with that, and bam, nausea gone. I had constipation, which was resolved with 1000 mg of magnesium. In the beginning, at my max dose, I had little appetite and ate to keep from getting low blood sugars. I lost 15 lbs and gained 20 back, but I didn't originally take the medication for weight loss, it was to control my type 2, which it has, so I can’t complain about that. My A1C is better and my blood glucose most days are normal. Now I just have to lose the weight I put on to feel comfortable again, which when I discussed this with my provider, she confirmed some people lose weight and keep it off, others will hit a plateau and gain some back once they hit their max dose."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lost 60 pounds in 4 months. Stomach pain and alternating diarrhea and constipation. I had recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes with an A1C of 6.6. Now my A1C is down to 5.5. My sleep apnea went from 27 incidents per hour to less than 2 per hour. I just started taking the 10 dosage. Every time I up my dosage, I have a few days of bad side effects, especially stomach pain, but after a while, they lessen, however, diarrhea or constipation never stops."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Male, 81 years old. 6'2'. Ended first 28 days of Zepbound 2.5 today. Starting weight 268.4 lbs. Today, 254.4 lbs. (-14 lbs.) Works as advertised. Much reduced appetite, minimal side effects. Primarily constipation, easily fatigued, burps. All manageable. Will start Zepbound 5.0 today. Downside is cost. Since I don't have other contributing medical conditions, insurance won't cover it. A grand a month is tough, but at my age, I figure my health and well-being is more important than my bank account. Will see how month two goes, then decide on future usage."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Am in 7th week, will begin 8th wk this coming weekend. Most noticeable effect besides some weight loss is constipation. 1st 4 wks was on a low dose, dose doubled at start of 5th week. Started @ 228 lbs, currently 215. Am 5'9'. I thought the weight loss would be more at this time."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mounjaro is good for weight loss as it makes you less hungry and increases your energy levels, but the downside is the side effects, which range from nausea, vomiting, and constipation. It is not a miracle drug, and it is started at a low level and gradually increases, but it's a great kickstart if it's combined with a healthy lifestyle."

Tirzepatide for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This drug is very helpful for me with weight loss. After checking the side effects, I have quite a few. Constant constipation, nausea, pain, inflammation, as well as additional thyroid issues, to name a few. Now, I'm concerned about my choice in using this drug. For me, it's very easy to administer the medication."

Tirzepatide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was prescribed this medication after having an ESG procedure to help with weight loss and in hopes of reversing Type 2. I also have PCOS and a family history of Type 2. After being on this medication, I am down at least 10 lbs (don’t remember my weight when I started), and my blood glucose is not in the diabetic range. My A1C was 5.9, down from 7.9, and I expect that to be lower on my next labs. I do have some side effects, the most prominent is constipation. Miralax helps. I used to get a headache after injection, but I take ibuprofen beforehand, and that helps. I also inject my thigh, not my stomach, and I do it before bed. I have to remember to eat and drink water. I would recommend this medication. I hope I’ve lost enough weight to get off and stay off. So far, so good."
