For Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome "I receive two 1000ml bags of sodium chloride every day through a Bard Power Port. It has been the only way to keep my blood volume up. I have gastroparesis and malabsorbtion and some autoimmune disorders. This has kept me from so many ER visits. I am thankful my Dr. worked with me. I also take Fludrocortisone to raise my blood pressure."

BD Posiflush SF (sodium chloride) "Each time this is injected in me within 20 seconds I get terrible strong chemical taste and gas at back of throat and behind my nose . Strong awful. Other saline does not have this effect. It does it's job as a flush but side effect also produces a mild headache."

"I have a condition which is similar to, but much less severe than Cystic Fibrosis (Asymptomatic Cystic Fibrosis). I have heightened salt levels in my sweat. But only my upper airways are affected, where I have constant mucus production which is very heavy and hard to clear up. My living quality improved significantly once a CF-clinic had me try inhaling sodium chloride with distilled water through a nebulizer with a mouth piece. I do it 3-4x a day now and the procedure takes about 25 minutes to complete each time since I inhale a large volume each time (2ml 4mmol/ml NaCl solution with ~8ml distilled water). It allows me to go for ~3-5h with only having to cough up mucus once every 20 minutes or so, or not at all if I am sitting still and not talking (i.e an exam). If you have a lot of mucus in your throat, I would definitely recommend that you try and experiment with this. Although I'm not sure if my improvement is due to the already heightened salt levels in my mucous membranes or if it works for everyone."
