For Influenza "I was hit suddenly this past Saturday evening with headache, joint pain, chest pain, chills, and a fever of 100. I had a telehealth appointment yesterday (Sunday) and began my Tamiflu around 1 pm (oral). Last night was rough as well, fever close to 102 and meds doing little to knock it down. Chest sore, difficulty coughing, achy, sweaty, and overall miserable. Around midday today (Monday), I began to feel much better, three doses of Tamiflu in. Temp holding steady at 99 and none of the aches and sharp bone pains. My advice: get the Tamiflu early, get in bed and stay there, drink, drink, drink-water, ginger ale, jello, pudding-and spend your time resting. Yes, it works."

For Influenza "I am 18 years old, and I have had influenza B before. I first started noticing symptoms on Saturday night, beginning with a mild cough. I woke up the next morning feeling awful, I couldn’t leave bed, I was running a 101.7-degree fever. The next day (yesterday), I felt twice as bad, I was running a 102.2-degree fever, so I went to urgent care. I was prescribed Mucinex and Tamiflu. Thirty minutes after taking the medicines, I vomited twice. I thought it was just the Mucinex, so when I woke up this morning, I only took the Tamiflu. I have been vomiting all day. Not sure if it’s just my body rejecting the medication, but I know I felt much better before taking this."

For Influenza "I was diagnosed with the flu and tried Tamiflu. I had one pill, and three hours later I had horrible side effects - I couldn't keep anything down, insane nausea, lost all feeling in my extremities, and my hands and feet cramped up so I couldn't move. Sharp pains all through my chest. It was bad, I had to go to the ER. Two of the doctors told me to keep taking it, but the ER nurse told me she doesn't like Tamiflu and I could stop taking it. I stopped and woke up feeling way better."

For Influenza "I took Tamiflu last year, 2 days after having flu symptoms and being recommended by my doctor. At first, it worked great, completely knocked out my fever and chills. Then, on day 2 of taking this drug, I got the worst headache of my life. I’ve never had migraines, but I’m certain this drug caused me to have one. I had to lay in the dark, with no sound or light for 4 days. I would have rather had the flu for a month than take this medication. I would highly recommend NOT taking this med, it’s not worth it."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu after being ill with a strange and strong flu virus, but it made me feel so much worse, with vomiting, nausea, dizziness, and headaches in addition to my flu symptoms. It really isn’t worth it, and I wish I wasn’t prescribed it because now I’m faced with the task of finishing it because you have to complete the pack. I’m dreading taking the next one. It really isn’t worth feeling this way for hardly any benefits. Plus, it’s super expensive."

For Influenza "Great, great, great medicine. I was alarmed when I caught the flu so hard that everything hurt. All I could do was sleep. So I did. I slept for 28 straight hours with the ability to only wake up to go to the restroom. Drove to the doctor and confirmed the flu. The doc prescribed Tamiflu and ibuprofen. Immediately took the first dose and was able to eat. Not sure if it was the medicine or what, but I was able to sleep again that night. By the morning, all symptoms were virtually gone. But I continue to take my dosage on the 3rd day, 2 a day, and have to say it’s a great big YES! from me. I had a 102.7 fever, body aches, and joints were screaming of pain before this med. As for side effects... none. I guess we are all different. But definitely worth a try."

For Influenza "I am on the second day with Tamiflu, 3 more days to go. Had not been able to sleep at all even if I managed to, I will have nightmares. Had diarrhea and no appetite. What kind of medication is this? I am paying so much for it! Wonder if I should stop taking it."

For Influenza "I woke up Monday morning and I had started to feel really run down and exhausted. I thought I just had a bad cold, so I just made sure to rest all day. Tuesday morning I woke up with a fever, congestion, and I could barely get out of bed. Thursday afternoon I finally went to the doctor, where I was diagnosed with the Influenza A (H3N2) virus. They prescribed me Tamiflu to see if it would help with my symptoms. So that Thursday night at around 10 pm, I took the medicine, and an hour later, the nausea started. I began throwing up too. I have never felt so nauseous before, it was horrible! I ended up in the emergency room at 4 am to see if they could give me anti-nausea medication to make it stop, and they did. I did take the medication on an empty stomach, but that's because I had absolutely no appetite all week while sick. I definitely won't be taking this medication again. It is not worth feeling that nauseous ever again!"

For Influenza "I was so sick I could barely open my eyes, or talk, or walk. Fever 40°C, chills, constant vomiting. Massive dehydration. Thought I would have a heart attack. Was ready to call an ambulance. Took Tamiflu. Vomited the first dose. The next morning, ate toast, tried again. Kept it down. Felt nauseous but concentrated on keeping it down. Well, by that afternoon, fever gone. Not out of the woods yet, but big improvement. Look, I was 11/10 sick, and this stuff took me to about an 8/10 in 12 hours. By 2 days later, I'm about a 5/10. It makes you hallucinate, but if you're lying in bed sleeping, just think of it as dreams. I decided to be the boss here. I ate a piece of toast (even though I wasn't hungry) before every dose. I put nice calm music on to ensure my dreams and hallucinations were calm also. Don't drink water in the first 30 minutes of taking it, it will make it easier to keep down. If you're truly very, very sick, these side effects don't matter compared to the improvement. It could save your life."

For Influenza "Felt achy, feverish, and developed a cough out of nowhere for about a day. That night, extremely fatigued. Went to the doctor on my second day, diagnosed with the flu after a swab. Started Tamiflu that night, learned not to take on an empty stomach, horrible diarrhea. After day three, no more fever, fatigue almost gone. Still have stuffy nose and cough a lot better. It works, and it works well. Just remember to drink fluids and eat something before taking it, even if it's a slice of bread. No other side effects."

For Influenza Prophylaxis "I came down with the flu TYPE B, a local clinic wrote me a prescription. The Dr. told me it wouldn't make me feel better, but rather shorten the duration. I figured I might as well try it. I've stopped after 3 doses-awful diarrhea and nausea. I'd rather let nature take its course than go through what I have for the last 10 hours."

For Influenza "Started taking Tamiflu, and within 24 hours, felt like I was on a boat and out to sea. I was nauseous, dizzy, had a nonstop headache, and even got a beautiful speckled body rash as a consolation prize. This drug is horrible, and it seems the potential side effects outweigh the benefits altogether. The fact that I paid over $100 for this medicine and cannot stomach taking another dose makes me even more upset. For the next time, it'll be lots of fluids, rest, teas, and some old-school TheraFlu."

For Influenza "I went to the ER on day two of shortness of breath, chest pains, fever, coughing, aches and pain all over my body. I was prescribed Tamiflu. I went home, took it around 7, my fever dropped down from 100.7 to 98.6 in an hour. I had no more chills and was able to turn my heater off and felt a lot better. I did get very dizzy and felt lightheaded, but overall I do feel a lot better only after 1 pill!"

For Influenza "Was diagnosed with influenza and was prescribed Tamiflu. Cost me $140 out of pocket. Took 2 pills and felt worse than I did before taking them. Vomiting was horrible. Then had to pay to go back to the doctor because of all the vomiting. Gave me new prescriptions. Will just ride the flu out next time. Cost me more than just letting it take its course. Tamiflu definitely not worth the cost or vomiting. Contacted the drug company and no reimbursements are given."

For Influenza "Both my children and I got the flu and were prescribed Tamiflu. I was surprised that even with insurance, it cost 46 bucks per prescription. Seems a bit high to me. I couldn't even get my kids to take it because the taste of it made my son throw up. I stopped taking mine about three days in because of how sick to my stomach it made me feel. If I get the flu again, I will just ride it out and not bother with the Tamiflu."

For Influenza "After spending a co-pay of $65 on this medicine, I couldn't even keep 1 pill down! So disappointed because I felt awful from the flu, and I spent so much money on this medicine, yet it would instantly cause me to feel nauseous, eventually leading to vomiting."

For Influenza "Well, 7 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with tonsillitis and influenza. Tamiflu caused me to have continuous projectile vomiting for 3 hours after taking it. I had to discontinue treatment and ride the flu out. Body is handling the Amoxicillin fine, though, for the tonsillitis."

For Influenza "Felt extremely weak with chills, fever, and body aches on Tuesday. Went to doctor on Wednesday. Diagnosis: influenza A. Prescribed Tamiflu. By Thursday, I began to feel somewhat normal. By Saturday, I was up and about. I would definitely take it again. I will say that it is imperative that you address the symptoms immediately in order for Tamiflu to fully work. The major side effect that I experienced was diarrhea. I’m now a week and 2 days out, and my stomach is still experiencing issues, but overall this worked well."

For Influenza "I was prescribed Tamiflu yesterday evening, and it's been about 24 hours since my first dose. I feel amazingly better, although not 100%. Just after the first dose, I woke up with some nausea and body aches, but nothing like the morning before. After the second dose and some ibuprofen, I had no fever, no body aches, and was able to eat a whole meal. My pulse was 146 at the doctor's yesterday, and now is in the 80's again! That is amazing. They told me it would only shorten the illness by 12 hours, but within 12, I felt better. After 24 hours, I feel about normal, aside from some body aches and a slight sore throat."

For Influenza "Started having headache and body aches on the night of January 10. I never had experienced such intense body ache before. Had low fever, 101F, on January 11, but I couldn't get a doctor's appointment till January 12. She did a nose swab, and results confirmed influenza A. I started Aleve to alleviate body ache at the same time as when I started Tamiflu, between light breakfast and lunch. I noticed diarrhea later that day but thought it was flu related, so I started diarrhea medication. Body aches dissipated through that night, and by next morning I could stop Aleve. Flu symptoms cleared since January 14, except for a slight dry cough with no chest involvement and slight allergy-like cold. Tamiflu worked for me, but has side effects of diarrhea and slight nausea."

For Influenza "I started taking Tamiflu 36 hours into having the flu. While I did not have as many of the side effects as others have experienced, I did have horrible diarrhea almost immediately after taking the drug. Additionally, I experienced 2 sleepless nights, tossing, turning, backaches, and insomnia. With that said, my flu symptoms dissipated within 24 hours of taking the drug, so I do feel like it shortened the duration of the flu. Also, the drug was expensive... over $100. My insurance barely paid for any of it. I think you have to ask yourself, are you OK feeling bad for an additional day or two in exchange for just having the flu, or are you willing to get back 24 hours of your life with the risk of some not-so-pleasant side effects? After 4 doses, I decided to go off. Hoping the flu doesn't return, as I am not going to finish the course my doctor prescribed. I want to get a good night's rest and not have to get up to go to the bathroom all the time. I'll roll the dice."

For Influenza "This drug is definitely worth the money. I was shocked. The flu knocked on my door, I never felt so ill in the 28 years that I've been alive: fever 103, chills, the worst radiating aches, sore throat, congested, etc. Went to the doctor within 13 hours of symptoms, couldn't handle it anymore, and they diagnosed me with the flu and gave me Tamiflu. Went home, took Tamiflu, went to sleep. Within 9 hours, 90% reduction in symptoms. I'd say that is a cure. Nonetheless, later the next day, I took the biggest #2 in my life (TMI), and I knew that the drug had worked. Anyone who had a problem with this drug probably had the onset of symptoms beyond 72 hours. I had no side effects. That is rare for me. You can get this if you have been around someone with the flu? Miracle drug!"

For Influenza "I got a prescription within 48 hours of being hit with symptoms. Sunday night, I got symptoms. Sick with chest congestion and aches, 102 fever and chills. Started on Tamiflu twice daily Monday afternoon. Horrible Monday night, horrible all day Tuesday. Wednesday morning, I felt hugely better, weak but no more fever, appetite back, went to work. I'd like to give credit to this medication."

For Influenza "Most effective. Thought I had a cold from travel, but had high fever unusual for me [30 years since last time!]. Unresponsive to Aspirin/Tylenol. Diagnosed with Influenza A. 2 capsules & 18 hours later POOF, fever gone & 98.6. Other conditions persist: chills with sweats, hazy feeling, equilibrium off, cough transitioning to yellow mucus. Side effects: 30 hours since fever dropped, body temperature has remained 1-2 degrees below normal. Eyesight is impaired where I see better without my glasses far, but have trouble reading small print like medicine instructions with glasses. Continued ringing in my ears. Insomnia because I should be drop-dead tired."

For Influenza "Starting to feel bad on Sunday, went to my doctor. On Monday, she said I had the flu, so I started Tamiflu. It seems to have helped me a lot and pretty quickly. I just have had a terrible headache for 2 days and diarrhea. Other than that, it's been great. Just can't handle this headache."
