For COVID-19 "I started Paxlovid the same day I tested positive for COVID. The metallic taste is awful. The first night had stomach cramps and trouble sleeping. Took it for five days, and three days later, I still have a metallic taste in my mouth, diarrhea, and acid reflux. The drug helped, but the side effects are not nice. Wondering how long it will take for the side effects to subside."

For COVID-19 "I tested positive for COVID and started on Paxlovid the next day at my doctor's urging. I am 75, in good health, have never had COVID, have been vaccinated once, and have had one booster. I guess you would say my COVID symptoms were fairly mild; I had nasal congestion and intermittent chills and achiness. I did not have any chest congestion or cough or fever to speak of. I never sleep well when I have a stuffy nose, so that was keeping me up a bit. After my first Paxlovid dose, my nasal congestion began to clear up, and after the second dose, my chills abated. But look out! That night I did not sleep a wink! On top of the disgusting taste in my mouth, I had a horrible stomach ache and nausea which kept me from falling asleep. I stopped taking that wretched medicine there and then, and that was two days ago. I am symptom-free now, except for the persistent nausea caused by this horrid Paxlovid, which no one in their right mind should ever consider taking. It's the flu, guys!"

For COVID-19 "I’ve taken two full days (4 doses) worth of Paxlovid. It has helped, but the horrid taste and the stomach cramps are making me seriously reconsider continuing to consume Paxlovid."

For COVID-19 "I am a 64-year-old woman with generally good health, and I was prescribed Paxlovid along with an antibiotic on my second day of having COVID. Along with everyone else, I also experienced the horrible bitter taste that stays with you all day and a bit of a stomach ache shortly after taking it. I did follow the course of the treatment and definitely saw symptoms getting better every day, but… I would expect for that to have happened anyway. I don’t know because I’ve never had COVID before how much this really helped, but I did not have any severe side effects from it. It is supposed to also help keep you from getting it again, so we will see how that goes."
