For Muscle Spasm "I have been put on Valium to relieve the muscle spasms and aches due to the reduction of Prednisone, which I have been taking for a long period of time (26 years). Anyway, this reduction of Prednisone has caused me quite a bit of muscle spasms, muscle aches, and muscle pain. The 10 mg of Valium relieves the muscle spasms and achiness. I feel the Valium is a godsend for my relief. I take one 10-mg tablet of Valium every morning when I wake up, as that is when the muscle pain is most severe. The Valium is effective in relieving the effects of the tapering down of my Prednisone level. Valium works very well for me. I rate the Valium a 10 in my relief!"

For Anxiety "Bless the doctor who finally saw this drug as an anodyne for me. I have arterio-venous necrosis, which means my joints are collapsing due to the death of tiny blood vessels, a very painful condition causing difficulty walking and using my arms. Valium not only relieves the pain, it also calms the crippling fear of falling, which keeps me from progressing with my physical therapy after the hip replacement, which I'm finally beginning to walk again after more than 2 and a half years on the Rollator. It allows me to sleep, it blots out social anxiety, and it prevents nausea and muscle spasms. I call it my anodyne... it is THE medicine for me. If I am addicted to it, so be it. I'm addicted to having a livable quality of life! Thank you, Diazepam!"

For Muscle Spasm "I have CP on my right side and down my back, along with scoliosis and a bad pars defect. For the pain and spasms, I take methadone and diclofenac for the pain, Lyrica for the neuropathy, and Valium, Soma, and cannabis for the spasms. I've been on the Valium the longest. It's a double-edged sword in that I use it for anxiety and spasms. Before it, I was on all the other standard benzodiazepines. Pound for pound, it is the safest benzo to be on. It lasts the longest in your system and self-tapers, meaning that withdrawal from it is easier than, say, Xanax or Klonopin. I've been on Valium for almost 10 years, and it has helped tremendously. With it, I can get out of bed every day and have quality of life. Recently, I switched from generic to name brand."

For Muscle Spasm "I’ve been diagnosed with peripheral and peroneal neuropathy in early 2009. My orthopedic surgeon initially prescribed 10 mg tablets 4 times daily. Also, I was prescribed gabapentin and Celebrex that didn’t agree with me. So, I was prescribed OxyContin immediate release, including Vicodin. The leg spasms were mostly at bedtime when my body was in a lying position. I never took more than 4 tablets a day, nor more than 10 mg at a time. I later found out that by putting my hands on my knees for a few minutes, the spasms in my feet and hamstrings subsided. I quit all the above meds in 2015 and had no adverse effects. I find that belonging to the YMCA, I utilize the sauna, steam, and jacuzzi, which help with my musculoskeletal symptoms. I do have spasms throughout my body (being a former tradesman) and have other occupational issues. Also, I take hot Epsom salts baths and drink tea, especially Smooth Move tea, that helps remove the toxins and keeps my bowels moving. Think positive!"

For Anxiety "I have suffered from anxiety, muscle spasms, nightmares, tremors, restless legs, and mood swings. I have taken 5 mg of Valium, sometimes 10 mg on and off since an extremely stressful nightmare of a divorce my ex dragged on for 3 years. My attorney suggested Valium, and my regular doctor had no trouble prescribing this. 30 tablets will often last 3 months - I've had refills expire, as I only take as needed (since 1995). This medication has been a lifesaver for me, and when I had PMDD (when it was just BAD PMS in the '90s), I have taken Xanax in the past, and the forgetfulness was unbearable, I couldn't drive, and withdrawal was immediate and awful. No problem with Valium! My pain doctor and regular doctor won't prescribe Valium to anyone anymore - long half-life? Ativan and Buspar didn't help at all."

"PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS HORRIFIC DRUG OR ANY BENZO! 5 years ago, I cold turkeyed off 5 mg of Valium, which I only used as a sleep aid. I literally lost one year of my life experiencing over 150 bizarre withdrawal symptoms, and I never had one of these symptoms prior to taking this drug. Some of the symptoms I experienced were chemical anxiety, tachycardia, auditory hallucinations, extreme fear, weight loss, SEVERE hair loss, chest pains, body aches, memory loss, I suddenly could not spell, could not formulate sentences, difficulty walking, flu-like symptoms, bone pain, night sweats, muscle jerks, and a hundred more symptoms. I am happy to report that all of these symptoms did abate, but it took one year. Valium and all benzodiazepines are only to be used short-term, less than 14 days. Also, Google Benzo Buddies, they helped save my life. Find out about the Ashton Manual to withdraw. PLEASE EDUCATE yourself about benzos."

For Muscle Spasm "This medication works as intended with minimal side effects. Relieves my muscle spasms and takes away the nervousness and bad attitude caused by back pain (not back ache). I take Percocet with Valium."

"I have a neuromuscular disorder and seizures, and muscle twitches, cramps, spasms, etc. Nothing helps me but Valium. I am thankful my doctor was open to try it. My life is so much better now."
