For ADHD "When I first started taking it, it helped me immensely with my ADHD. Pretty quickly, however, it stopped working. For one thing, it gives me crazy mood swings. It really amps me up at first, and I get super euphoric and happy for two hours, and then I feel awful and anxious and depressed. It actually potentiates my ADHD symptoms. It makes me extremely thirsty all the time, so I keep having to leave class to go use the bathroom or fill up my water bottle. Adderall makes it harder for me to appreciate the beauty of nature. I feel less in touch with my emotions when I take it. I understand that Adderall helps people a lot of the time, so it's worth a shot. But it didn't help me AT ALL. In fact, it probably made things worse."

For ADHD "While Adderall definitely helped my ADD symptoms, the comedown was absolutely horrible. I was on 30mg per day (20mg IR in morning, 10mg IR 5hrs later). It made me finally able to focus, and stay organized for the 5 months I took it. However, as soon as it started wearing off, I turned into a real big jerk, and I even lost some friends because of it. I eventually discontinued it after having a mental breakdown, and due to several of my closest friends and family approaching me about how I was acting. I ended up switching to Concerta and currently take 36mg per day. I find that it works 10 times better than Adderall did for me. Long story short, Adderall, while definitely very effective at treating my symptoms, wasn't the right fit for me."

For ADHD "This medicine initially seemed to work very well for me with improved concentration but after taking it for only 6 months I discontinued it due to anxiety levels being through the roof to the point where I couldn’t function. This was enhanced during social interactions of which is ironic because I know many people say they experience increased desire for social activities. A month after stopping medicine, I started experience psychotic symptoms of which have not subsided. I do not suggest this medicine."

For ADHD "Diagnosed ADD 18 y/o, on and off Adderall IR since then. Too high a dose causes psychosis...be forewarned. I used to be on 30mg 3x/day, now I'm leary of taking more than 2.5mg 2x/day. Maybe it builds up in the brain, so be sure to take breaks from it often. I notice the side effects outweigh the benefits at higher doses....irritability, zombie-like come-down. My insurance only covers this and Ritalin, so I'm stuck with bad side-effects."

For ADHD "I've been on Concerta before and decided to try Adderall. I loved the results, ultra focused. At the beginning I was incredibly happy with it. Unfortunately, I had a severe allergic reaction to it. I'm not allergic to any other medicines but for some reason Adderall got me. If you get extremely itchy on the medicines stop taking it. I kept taking it for a while because I loved the results and the itching got really bad."

"My son was 7 when he started taking Adderall for his Aspergers Syndrome. He was overweight but after taking the medication for 1.5 years, lost a lot of weight. He is not a picky eater but his appetite was non-existent. There was nothing I could do to get him to eat. We did have to change his medicines and he has since put some weight back on. The medicine did do for us what we needed it to do which was help with his impulsivity."

For ADHD "Taking Adderall can either be one of the best or worst experiences of your life, and it either will or won’t help you focus. The fact is when you are taking a medication to help focus, and it happens to play with your neurotransmitters less carefully than a teenager with a glass vase, you might want something a little more accurate, but that is not what you get. Then there are the symptoms. You can eat or sleep for many hours depending on the potency of your dose, but once your dose wears off, the hunger hits you like a truck, and you end up snacking on the nearest thing, which often does not lead to the best outcome for both health and your mental."

For ADHD "I take Adderall XR 30 mg and it has always worked for me until this last batch. It's a Teva batch and it makes me feel horrible. Out of nowhere, I get high blood pressure and I can't focus. I get fatigued and it feels like I'm gonna pass out sometimes. Something is truly wrong here. It's scary because I need this medication to hold down a job because without it, I'm a hot mess. I pray this gets resolved soon. Thinking about switching to Desoxyn. Really good reviews and no shortage."

For ADHD "I've been in the middle of this shortage and have been going through whatever brand of generic the pharmacy has on hand. So as of now I have experience with Sandoz, Mallinkrodt, Teva, Shire, Camber, and Rhodes brand 10mg Generic Adderall IR. Now each of them has varying levels of side effects, some more than others however each of them has had the same effect as the other medications in the same dosage of 10mg. Except for Teva, which now if I had to guess instead of the 10mg Blue IR Adderall manufactured by Teva. Instead of 10mg in these pills which are labeled for 10mg, I can guarantee you if I took it to a lab and had it analyzed there is probably on 5-6mg of mixed amphetamine salts contained in each pill. Something has happened with the Teva brand that the FDA needs to look into, these medications are life saving and necessary for those with ADHD in order to function and not cost society $300 billion in damages a year alone due to untreated ADHD."

For ADHD "I have ADD child - I'm the mom—I’ve been witness to the efficacy, (or not!) of differing generic Equivalents for Adderall. The FDA classes a generic drug equivalent if it has at 80% of the effective ingredient—For you and I, that means a 20% less effective drug for our child. Consumer accounts are eerily similar. Non-effective substitutions in generic formulae cause problems for those who rely on effective medication to function. (In a 9 year old, we are talking the difference between an 18 Lego creation vs scale model replication-within 15 min of Adderall dosage) We had good results with a generic for made by Core—‘til it was discontinued. We relied on Zydus brand—discontinued. Tevo is better than Barr, but not as effective as Core or Zydus. What to do? Sub-par medication puts a society, based upon self-regulated, responsible citizenry, at risk. Have just read that Mallinckrodt is making generic Adderal—ugh. Heaven help you if you are given version of mallinckrodt vycodin…"

For ADHD "I’ve been on Adderrall immediate release for at least 8 years, probably more. At first Adderrall gave me an intense high and made me very talkative. Very talkative. That lasted for a few days and after that each morning when I took it it gave me a euphoric feeling for about have the day. I wasn’t making impulsive decisions like I had in the past and my focus was razor sharp. I really enjoyed this drug for sometime but the last 3-5 years it’s just been the same old same old. I take it in the morning and have somewhat of a boost in energy and focus but after around 11am the effects of the medication just wears off. I wind up feeling irritable, decent level of focus if I’m busy at work, and just downright not very social with people. This week I’m going to see my P.A. and hopefully get on Vyvanse which I was encouraged by many to try before jumping on Adderrall. Vyvanse is more expensive but I’m ready to feel more focused and more myself."

For ADHD "Started off with Adderall 5 mg IR twice daily. Overall, this is a very low dose. I have found it was more effective and safer to take it every couple of days. At least for me. I have tried 40mg and 60mg before so I am very aware of how intense it can be. If you take it every day you will end up increasing the dosage. Try to use it sparingly and try doing activities that produce dopamine naturally like exercise or walking and listening to music. This will help you feel healthier while taking it. Overall I think it is helpful but definitely feels unnatural and can't believe they give speed to children. "

For ADHD "Was diagnosed with ADHD at 18 years old. I was prescribed, and am taking Adderall 20mg XR. This drug makes me feel like an emotionless zombie at times. My anxiety is fluctuating a lot and my mood is constantly changing. I like to go out late sometimes but when it wears off I don’t have any energy to do so. Friends and family have become increasingly less important it seems. I have minor scoliosis and it makes my back pain a lot worse at times. This drug definitely allows me to focus and get ahead. At the end of the day I don’t know if it’s worth it though. Might need a lower dose."

For ADHD "I'm not entirely sure if ADHD and bipolar intersect, or if they correctly diagnosed me by being both, but that being said, I was prescribed adderall at age 15. It definitely did the job. I personally enjoy being hyper so it was alien to me. It enables me to not only hear people but listen and comprehend. It stops impulsive behavior. Provides almost sedated state. You just float along. I feel like it made me want to be quiet and polite. Now I take lamictal and seroquel. If you have ADHD do yourself a favor and look up mania. Very similar."

For ADHD "I take 5 milligrams as needed for school. I take it right before school, maybe around 6am, school starts around 7am. I've noticed extremely dizziness, I get hot so easily, even more anxious, so much more depressed, so tired, terrible headaches, and excessive talking. I wake up in the morning to bump into every possible wall, my vision is completely blacked out. I can't walk for more than a mile, without feeling faint. I eat well and drink lots of water (due to a horrible experience with Vyvanse, in which i lost 20lbs) Not only that but falling asleep is killer. I've never taken such a small dose, and have such poor results."

For ADHD "I began taking Adderall tablets, 15 -25 mg off and on, sometimes using Ritalin tablets instead. Both medications, although chemically different, have been bad for my sex drive. Adderall was preferable as it did not cause me to feel so emotionally vulnerable and 'weepy' as Ritalin. BUT learning that there's a neuro-toxic impact from Adderall that does not occur with Dexedrine has made me ask the question: why not Dexedrine? I do not enjoy the Adderall 'high' ~ I always take every medicine as prescribed AND vacation. Adderall helped me focus but *felt* physically mean. Now my psych doctor has prescribed Dexedrine ER. I look forward to enjoying sex again. "

For ADHD "I have ADHD and this medication helps with everyday life. I can focus on what I'm doing. The only real problem I have with this medication is the fact that it affects how I treat others. In other words I get agitated a lot faster. I don't want to be angry and before I took this medication I would always turn the other cheek, but now unfortunately I get real angry really fast."
