For ADHD "My 9 years old nephew took this for a while. It helped with focus, but made him extremely angry and argumentative. Also, he refused to sleep at night unless he was in the same room as his grandmother. He has tried multiple medications but so far all gave some negative side effect or lose effectiveness soon after he starts taking it."

For ADHD "I used to take Adderall. My current doctor told me that Adderall is actually amphetamine and that while amphetamine will work for ADHD, it damages dopamine cells by releasing the dopamine inside the cell. She also said that there is increasing evidence that amphetamines increase risk for parkinson's disease even when it is used as directed."

For ADHD "I started taking Adderall when I was 26 y/o and it was AMAZING for about 2 years. My dose started out at 30mg/day in the beginning and after 2 years was up to 60mg/day (30 mg IR twice daily). I started getting increasingly paranoid, losing, what seemed like, more and more sleep with each passing month. I kept thinking that I was seeing red and blue lights on my walls at night, which made me think the cops were after me outside. Even though I didn't do anything that would require police assistance. Until one day when I lost my mind, literally. I was taken by ambulance to the hospital and put on a 72 hour psychiatric hold for which I ended up staying at the hospital almost 2 week. Diagnosed with amphetamine induced schizoaffective disorder!!!"

For ADHD "Do not take Adderall if high blood pressure runs in your family. Be especially careful not to take it if you have high blood pressure already. I had normal blood pressure until I started taking Adderall. Ever since, my blood pressure has been at least 130/80, and I have measured it at 162/88 while on the drug. I am a 20 year old male, and my dad has hypertension, which is where this incredible susceptibility comes from. I stopped taking it but I still have high readings, which only started when I began taking Adderall. Do yourself a big favor and harangue your doctors about Adderall if you or your family has a history of high blood pressure. You don't want to end up on BP meds."

For ADHD "my doctor gave me adderall because i cant sit still long enough to concentrate and study and do productive things at work. He gave me 10mg to take twice a day but i didn't feel any effects from the drug. I decided to take 2 10mg at the same time and still nothing. I am so sad right now because all i want to do is concentrate and study and do my job with concentration. I was really excited to take these pill but now am dissapointed. I think I am one of those people who are resistant to stimulant medication"

For Narcolepsy "Took methylphenidate SR (Ritalin sustained release) 100 mgs a day for years for major depression, was still tired, could still sleep at anytime, but not too bad. Dr retired, new Doc doesn't want to prescribe that he switched script to Adderall 90 mgs a day. Worked at first but not well, now it is worthless. I can hardly get out of bed and it is almost impossible to stay awake all day. Did the Sleep Study a few weeks ago and Dx with Narcolepsy w/o cataplexy, prescribed Modafinil to take with the Adderall, a little better. In my case the Adderall must go. Very good that it works for others, as no one wants to feel like they are sleeping their life away."

For ADHD "When I was diagnosed with ADHD in the 3rd grade they put me on Adderall and then I became a person I was not. I had social anxiety but got exceptionally good grades in school where others failed. Adderall changes your personality and was the worst 12 years of my life, I had no friends because engaging in conversation was nearly impossible. It traps your thoughts in a prison of your mind and suppresses any creativity. "

For ADHD "My wife started taking Adderal 5 months ago. It completely changed her for the worse. Sure she might be able to complete tasks and feels energized but the side effects are ruining our family. She goes from talking to screaming in mid sentence. Violent behavior is now the norm. Zero sex drive. Total lack of regard for others. I have talked to her about these issues but the responses are "shut up". She has lost 20 lbs and looks terrible. By the way she was bulimic as a teen and into college. So the weight loss is appealing to her. I contacted the first nurse vacationer that prescribed it for her. He cut her off."

For Narcolepsy "Been on Adderall IR for over 10 years. Noticed the effects of Teva and Sandoz are not the same . The new formulas reminds me of a caffeine pill. Little energy, dizziness, eye blurriness, and brain fog. Also, pills look different. I believe all of the Adderall companies are using the same formula to ween people off. Why?"

For ADHD "I recently was given this new form of Adderall from the pharmacy, which was circular with just an 'A' on one side. I did not like this new form of Adderall at all! I assumed it would have the same effect as the typical oval shaped one, but it was completely different, which is a little scary. It was very bitter and gross tasting, unlike the football-shaped one that has a sweet note. It also disintegrated, turning to powder immediately, as I attempted to break it in half (waste of product). I did not get any focus from it, nor did I feel any different at all. It did nothing! Then the next day, I got a horrible headache! I was talking with a friend who also mentioned getting the same thing recently. He mentioned having an extremely bad headache too the following day, so we now know it's from this form of Adderall. I DO NOT LIKE IT. It should be pulled from the market, honestly. I don't know what the heck this rubbish is, but it is not Adderall."

For ADHD "I shared my experience recently on here and was going back over and reading others as well. I believe we should all state the laboratory that is producing the specific generic we are each taking. Doing so may help us all narrow down which ones to stay away from and which ones are truly therapeutic. Eon lab brand of amphetamine/dextroamphetamine was good until 9 months ago, now they are horrible (no therapeutic value and bad side effects). I then switched to Teva and they were decent for about 2 months and now they are giving me side effects. Plus, the pharmacy ran out of them and I had to wait for a new batch and when the new batch came in is when the bad side effect started. I KNOW the drug manufacturer has changed something. Hope that helps someone."

For ADHD "Please be aware of all side effects before taking this drug. Adderal is highly addictive and it is very likely that 1 taking this drug will continue to do so for a long period of time out of necessity. Its best to slowly decrease the intake of the drug so the withdrawal symptoms are not 2 intense. Taking more than prescribed can lead 2 severe & even life threatening situations. Hallucinations, hearing voices, severe insomnia, & personality changes are inevitable if abused. With that being said, this is a highly effective yet short term solution bc of the dependency factor. At times the side effects may be so severe that the person taking the drug doesn't even notice bc they are so happy and focused on everything else.Notice Excessive Movement?"

For ADHD "Yes, this medication does work wonders, at first. Diagnosed ADHD (by a Psychiatrist) at the age of 26. The first 3 years it worked quite well and felt like a godsend. I took 5-6 days a week and my life demonstratively improved. Focus, completing tasks, mental clarity, improved self-esteem...life was good. Adderall, like other CNS stimulants, tend to become less effective after time and I noticed this more pronouncedly by my 5th year. At that point, I felt trapped by the drug and tried to stop. The problem was that even after a month or more without Adderall, none of discontinuation symptoms were improving. While I continue to use Adderall for maintenance, I derive little benefit. Be aware, the effects won't last indefinitely!"

For ADHD "I took this medicine for ADD when I was eleven. I'd had some slight muscle tics before that and the doctor warned me and my parents that Adderall could make those worse, but at the time I wasn't too worried about it. That was a mistake. The tics got far worse, to the point that once I passed out because it made it difficult for me to breath. One doctor said it was OCD, and another said it might be Tourette's, and another thought it was the medicine. All I know is I've stopped taking it and they've mostly gone away, though they still come back every once in a while when I'm tired. I'm not sure if Adderall would have helped my "ADD"; I didn't take it long enough. I've since managed to get it together and improve my grades without any medication."

For ADHD "Teva Adderall is no longer effective after 5 years. The composition of the medication has definitely changed. This has affected me quite negatively, and I'm pretty sure it is a manufacturing issue. This needs to be corrected. Most of us take the medication because we need it, not because it's fun."

For ADHD "I totally agree that the new A 79 generics are no good. I mean they work a little bit, but I feel taking the same amount of the other oblong orange ones that taste like sweet we’re way better. These taste like nasty chalk. I’ve never had adderal brand though so I wouldn’t that difference."

For ADHD "Have taken Adderall on and off for around 13 years for ADD and CFS. I was lucky enough to have tried the “real” brand Adderall by Barr laboratories. I’ve never taken over 20mg a day. This medicine has gone to TRASH.The only negative side affect from the Barr version was occasional jaw clinching. I think Teva must’ve burned the patent formula or something because it has never worked liked the Barr, not even close. So many negative side effects (migraine headaches, heartburn, nausea)! I keep hoping at some point they might magically start producing a decent version that actually helps instead of hurts. The original Barr had true therapeutic value. Eon labs produced a decent generic for a while, but BAM, it suddenly went to garbage at the end of 2018. So switched back to Teva a couple months back and it started ok( not as good as Eon but better than everything else out there), then last months refill is feeling like they’re changing to something bad too. Bring back real Adderall!"

For ADHD "Adderall seemed to really help me at first. After about six months though I ran into problems. I started to feel nervous, had sleeping issues, loose stool, sweaty pits, and ultimately gained a dependency where I craved for me to always be on it and feared the comedown. The final straw was when I fell into my seasonal depression and the it made it worse. I started to feel like an emotionless robot, knew had to leave it. Overall the negative side effects far out-weighed the positive ones. I'll also note it has been several months since my last dose and I still don't feel completely like myself. Sometimes it is harder for me to get up and going than it has ever been, and my seasonal depression didn't end in March like usual, this is the first sunny June I've been depressed like this. I suggest other alternatives to your ADHD, this drug is toxic, very addictive, and can change you. I never felt right taking it, I'll do anything else to combat my ADHD after experiencing it long term."
