I suffer from PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Acute Anxiety, BPD, and OCD. I also have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
As far as the BPD, the main problem is my impulse control and my anger management. The rest are pretty explanatory. PTDS is moderate-severe, OCD is moderate, Depression is severe, Anxiety is severe. Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) are moderate to severe. When my fibromyalgia and CFS come out of dormancy, there are pretty difficult to deal with (severe stage). This is when my anger needs to be manageable the most. I have gone off all past medications, including Cymbalta, Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Xanax, Ambien, and more. I’ve taken Abilify, but my doctor took me off. He said it’s not good for me (I don’t remember specifically why - probably causes Alzheimer’s). I am starting over with my prescriptions. I have a new Psychiatrist. Does anyone know what SSRI is best for anger management, impulsively, Acute anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and Depression? I DO NOT want to gain weight!! I just got a prescription for BuSpar, which I have not taken yet. I want something that compliments BuSpar. I want as few meds as possible. Thanks in advance.

Your question is somewhat difficult to give a definitive answer. It may be effective for you but it might not. The only true way to know is by trying it out. The duration will depend on YOUR chemistry NOT someone else's. Someone else may notice effectiveness as soon as 2 weeks while others may not notice effectiveness for up to 8 weeks while others may not be able to tolerate the side effects. Additionally some have taken it as long as 3 months and did not have any positive results. Again the true way to determine effectiveness for YOU is to try it out for yourself. With your medication history and multiple diagnosis and conditions you need to sort it out through your psychiatrist.

I agree with Truth is offensive. Everyone is different. Me personally, I take Pristiq, and it has done wonders for my anger, and I didn’t gain weight. My psych Dr. did a DNA(gene?) testing and I found out all the psych meds that help, hurt, metabolize too quick, etc. I wish you the best in your journey. I completely understand.
