Are you on dialysis as yet? I'm not well versed on kidney disease but I know that you have at least 5 yrs once you start dialysis.
No I am not in dialysis nor am I going to participate in that program. I am very familiar with this disease my mother died from it my brother died from it and my sister has passed away from it. I watch them do dialysis it's a horrible long extended way to go. I would have already been deceased had this doctor I'm using decided to use this drug on me which is kept me a live for the last 12 months. Normally Zemplar is used for people with renal failure in three and stage four not stage five ,usually kidney transplant or dialysisis recommended. I was just wondering what is there anybody else out there in stage five with a 8 GFR or less, and how are they doing?
Thank you for your response.

If you can find an Iyengar Yoga teacher in your area, she will teach you to do daily backbends which will squeeze your kidney and give thus dialysis. Please wait:
Mr Iyengar's daughter in India had early childhood kidney disease and while she was taking many meds; nothing caused even an improvement. Then, her father who is world renowned for his healing yoga, told her to begin with daily backbends and never miss a day. Now, backbends can begin very simply and easily over a bench so everybody can start at the beginning. Mr. Iyengar's daughter is now in her 60's.
My mother recently passed away from End Stage Renal Kidney failure. She also decided not to do dialysis. June of 2013 we were told she had three months to live (without dialysis) and her GFR varied between 8 and 9. I am not sure if she was taking Zemplar, but with medication she was able to live the last year of her life not hooked up to a dialysis machine. She passed away two weeks ago... peacefully. Her last GFR was at 5.
I would like to say that a person can live much longer than 5 years on dialysis. I have patients that have been on 20 plus years. Medical technology is amazing and getting better daily. There is more and more hope for those with kidney disease, including myself now.
