I’m at day 12 on Prozac 20mg. I awake feeling jittery still. I usually take .5mg clonazepam about an hour after taking Prozac. During the day, it feels like the nervousness is always present. Will calm ever return?
When will you know Prozac is working?

I was on Prozac for some years.
It takes 2 to 3 weeks in order to start feeling some improvement and for full therapeutic effect, 6 to 8 weeks. Of course everyone is different, it may take a bit less or more depending on your metabolism.
Four 1/2 weeks now on Prozac 20mg. I have to use clonazepam to curb the anxiety that occurs. I can take .5mg clonazepam up to four times/day. So far I have fought to keep it to two to three times /day. (Still can’t live my normal daily life due to the anxiety kicking in sooner than it should). Am I fighting too hard against using the clonazepam, or should I deal with the rough anxiety to keep my levels of clonazepam low. I feel badly for my family having to deal with me. Any advice out there? My PCP is on vacation.
Try not to use too much clonazepam, and fight to keep your emotions under control. Do not let the anxiety get to the point that it affects your relationship with your family, yes, you can give into the benzo but then stopping it is the problem. Clonazepam as any other benzo is highly addictive and one develops tolerance rather soon and starts increasing the doses so I advice you to do some yoga, breathing excersises, find something you can do to diminish your anxiety and wait for the Prozac to fully kick in, it will kick in soon a week to 10 days it will have build up in your organism.
Early signs to know if your medication is working; You should feel more relaxed, improve sleep and appetite, feeling less anxious or fear etc. you have been taking it for only 12 days. I suggest you to give Prozac a few more weeks before giving up. It does get better over time. Hang in there, stay positive. Try to occupy yourself by reading, listening to music, taking walks, practice breathing techniques etc. don’t let your anxiety control you. The medication will work, fingers cross for you.

SSRI’s works by altering brain chemistry. It’s a process that takes time, not even a week. But months. Just hang in there, ok buddy?
in my opinion, that's a very good answer! Weeks, if not many weeks.
It's all up to your bodies system. We are all different and all meds and drugs act/react different in different systems.
