I have been on Zoloft now for 5 weeks for anxiety. I have slowly worked my way up to 50 mg. I have been at 50 mg for a little over a week and I felt great, but yesterday and today I feel a little anxious. Not like I was before the Zoloft or while trying to get my body use to the Zoloft (that was horrible anxiety!), but it feels like it wants to come back. Should I talk to my Dr. about going to 75 mg?? How do you know if you need to increase it or just wait and see if it will work?
How do you know when to increase your Zoloft Dose?

Hello KT1975. I would give yourself another few days. (I am not a doctor) If still feeling uncomfortable, certainly ask your doctor that you believe the need to increase the dose. SSRI family of drugs work in a different manner than the older families of psychiatric medications. They (SSRI) tend to work/perform much quicker, and yet also the side effects do as well, act or can act just as quickly. Most every psychiatric drug, used throughout the past many years, carries the minus and plus. Regards pledge
Thanks Pledge! I hate how I was feeling good and then all of a sudden, I'm starting to feel the anxious poke through again... when will it end?!
I, too, wonder if it ever quites. The days I feel good, I am so happy because I know it want last. The panic/anxiety just comes over you.
I've been on Zoloft for 15 years on and off. I've been holding at 50mg for 6 years. in conjunction with CBT i would say I am 95% cured and lead a normal and happy life. i don't frequent online forums much. due to a life shock i am taking it up to 75mg. I anticipate around 3 weeks of sleepiness during the day and will get by with coffee. Zoloft does work but dose adjustment up or down should be done in 25mg increments. i think i must be very sensitive to dose changes. if you have become unwell its a judgement call. in my case I've been unwell for 6 months
