Any time you take prescription drug and you want to take a supplement like this, you should only use the product if your Dr approves. There are some supplements that dont react well with prescription drugs. Just looking at the ingredients to this Nutrex Lipo 6-synephrine is otherwise known as bitter orange. There is insufficient evidence that it is helpful for weight loss. When synephrine is taken with caffeine (which this product has in it) it may not be safe. It can cause increased blood pressure, and increased rapid heart rate which, in turn, increases risk for heart attack, stroke and could possibly lead to death. It causes increased risk for fainting and it also makes you very sensitive to the sun. Next ingredient-guggelsterones-again, insufficient evidence for helping with weight loss. It can cause stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, skin rash and itching. It can increase risk of bleeding so if you would get in an accident or need emergency surgery, this product could cause you to bleed excessively. Guggelsterones also increase the side effects of estrogens so if you are on birth control pills or estrogen, it increases all the bad side effects of estrogen like heart attacks, strokes, blood clots etc. Next ingredient-yohimbine hcl-yohimbe is a stimulant so it increases blood pressure, causes rapid heart rate, can cause anxiety, dizziness, nausea, vomiting and can cause insomnia. It is recommended that Yohimbine only be used under the direction of a physician or other healthcare professional, like a naturopathic Dr. because of the increased risks for heart problems and possible death from improper use of Yohimbine. Next ingredient-caffeine-also a stimulant which causes again, high blood pressure, rapid heart rate, jittery feelings, anxiety, insomnia, large doses (>200mg and each dose has 200mg) are considered unsafe. Birth control pills and estrogens slow the rate that caffeine breaks down in the body and caffeine also can increase blood glucose (sugar) levels. Last active ingredient they call Bioperine which is Piper nigrum which is black pepper/white pepper. It might have a burning aftertaste. Taking large amounts of black and white pepper by mouth, which can accidentally get into the lungs, has been reported to cause death. At this time there is not enough scientific information to determine an appropriate range of doses for black pepper and white pepper. Keep in mind that natural products are not always necessarily safe and dosages can be important. Products sold as "natural supplements" are not regulated by the FDA and are not considered "medicine" but are considered foods. This doesnt equal "safe" . Advertisements and "reviews" on ad sites are not reliable as they want to sell the product. I would discuss the use of the product with your Dr. Usually results obtained by these products is not maintained once the product is discontinued. If I were you, I would save my money. If you want caffeine, drink a couple cups of black coffee. The only true way to lose weight is to burn off more calories than you take in. Lower your intake, eat only a healthy balanced diet of wholesome foods and exercise-bottom line. There is no easy way to lose weight and there is no pill that will work better than decreasing your caloric intake and increasing your caloric burn (exercising).
