if its ok to take one dose in morning the other in late afternoon or evening.
Can you divide your predisone twice a day, I'm taking 3x3 2x3 1x3 20mg. I want to know?

H. Martí. Actually it depends upon the dose. If this is a dose pack with 5 mg pills I would spread them out. You feel better and get less flushing and discomfort. Higher doses at night may keep you more awake. Stay away from coffee or other caffeinated beverages past noon and you ought to be ok. I always split doses of twenty and over at morning and before bed. I don't have sleeping problems, however. I have staying awake problems these days. Lol. Be sure you always take prednisone with food. It is a stomach destroyer even on low dose. A glass of milk doesn't do it. Small meal, bowl of cereal or soup will help.
Split them. Dinner time is fine for the evening dose. It makes no difference for treatment levels as prednisone hangs around a good long time.

The pills are 20mg,and I;m very careful that I eat along with the pills. I found out 6 months ago what can happen if you take them on an empty stomach :(

Hmmm well they keep me up and give me all sorts of energy. Taken near bedtime I'm awake all night. Guess they do different things to different people.

I've decided to take one with breakfast and one with late afternoon snack. Feel a lot better than I did 2 months ago when I was on the same route. Not as crazy feeling, and head ringing etc. Full of energy but not over the top. I'll be done in 4 days, so hopefully I'll stay healthy for awhile. I feel 90% better than I did a week ago. :)

By the way, tabs can be cut in half with a pill splitter if you need to do so. I even cut one into quarters when having dosing changes. It all works out.

I've been doing that... Tues Wed Thur I take 1 a day, and I'll split them! I've actually cut them in 1/4 too... They call me Doctor Marti at my doctors office. :)

I'm like part of the family at the office, I had to leave my waiting room for a minute and went I went to go back I walked into the wrong room and the Dr introduced me to the patient she was with as Dr Dorney!! I've been going by that name every since :)

I have been given a Prednisone prescription of 60 mg and i was wondering if that could be harmful if taken at night?

I wouldnt take Prednisone in the evening at all. Because its very likely to cause you to not get any sleep. Insomnia is a common side effect of it as is. Let alone when taking it later in the day. I would call my dr's office and ask to talk to the drs nurse and ask her.

Thanks, never thought of that, I just started 2 days ago, by the way my house is spotless!!! And our dog got a bath! :) Will take one dose tomorrow.
