Hi TKH,
Xanax is NOT a pain med. it is a potent,
short-acting anxiolytic of the benzodiazepine class.
In other words it's used to treat anxiety and panic attacks.
However, it does help pain that is caused by muscle tightness by relaxing the muscles.
Muscles tightening is a response to having pain. If the muscles are relaxed by Xanax the pain is decreased. It does not directly affect the cause of the pain.
Lol... I didn't explain that very well but do you understand?
Take care
:-)
Not that I have ever found except for really tight muscles and tendons when badly anxious.
