I have fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, and type 2 diabetes. I have an all over body itch that is driving me insane, and making my life unbearable. I've been looking for relief of this itch for 13 years. So far only Xanax has given me relief. Does anyone know if I can get the same relief from Klonopin?.
I have taken Xanax for all over body itch. Can Klonopin give me the same relief? I am diabetic?

Klonopin can absolutely help you. My husband had all over itch to the point where he had scabs all over his body. The doctor tried all the common regimens, including sending him to a dermatologist. In the end, a nurse practitioner recommended Klonopin. He found a doctor willing to take the NPs advice, and it worked. It still works today. He is been taking it for several years. Granted, he is on a pretty high dosage, 2MG 3 times daily, but it works.
I didn't know that Xanax is used for itching.
It is a benzo... for anxiety or panic disorders. I'm a diabetic too. Type II insulin.
I'd ask your doctor why this was/is prescribed to you.
For a quick answer... I took Xanax for many years and also took Benadryl too at bedtime to help me sl and to relieve my allergy. So... this was told to me by my prescribing doctor. But, not everyone is alike as far as what our systems can handle safely. So, please ask a doctor who is familiar with your case records.
