I saw that at least 2 other people in the phentermine support group here were prescribed a dosage of 37.5mg/day. Am I taking too little? The name of the pill is Razin and as far as I know, it only comes in 15mg. pills and is supposed to be taken just one a day. What is the normal dosage for weight loss (for appetite suppression)? I weight around 185lb. or so and am age 54.
What is the normal dosage for phentermine? I'm taking 15mg but others 37.5mg?

The recommended dosage of phentermine for the capsule form is 15mg, 30mg, or 37.5mg once a day. With the tablets, the recommended dose is 18.75 mg (half a tablet) or 37.5 mg (one tablet) once daily. If needed, the doc may increase the dose to half a tablet twice a day. The medication is intended for short-term use only.
Please take care, be well!
I weighed the same thing when I started addipex (phentermine). My doctor started me out at 37.5. BUT,,I was 30 years old and have no history of illness.I did ask the nurse if one half of a pill would be as effectful and she said yes.So I tried one half a pill and It did work great.I lost down from 180 to 129.As far as losing the weight ,you have to exersize and drink your water though or it wont be as effectful. as with any other diet, But I lost an average of 14 pounds every month..Good luck ..stick with what the dr gives you because he may have you on a lower dose for a reason..It never hurts to ask,right..lol..
I have been on 15 My of phenermine for 6 months, walk 5 mikes a day and watch what I eat. I have not lost a single pound. Is the dose too low?
Agada - If you have been taking Phentermine for 6 months while walking 5 miles per day and "watching what you eat" yet lost no weight, then it sounds like you have some sort of medical condition such as a thyroid problem or... Perhaps your idea of watching what you eat is not practical. Do you eat a lot of sugar or carbs? Are you drinking alcohol? Do you walk fast enough to get your heart really pumping? I personally had drastic results when I was taking 37.5mg doses of Phentermine. I would break the pill in half and take half with breakfast and the other half in the early afternoon. I also did moderate to intense cardio 3-5 times per week, quit eating bread, pasta, tortillas, noodles and rice, no alcohol and restricted my calories to 1500 per day on average. Dropped 33 pounds in about 7 weeks (went from 216 to 183).
At the 6 week mark however I quit Phentermine completely and only got lipotropic injections once per week for 3 additional weeks thus completing a 10 week program. As someone else already mentioned, Phentermine is not meant for long term use. You should talk to a health care professional if you want to take Phentermine as it's available by prescription only. The kind you buy online without a prescription is either fake or being sold illegally which is dangerous. Best of luck to you.
