Hey MathewD,
No, Visteral is the brand name for the generic hydroxyzine while Xanax is the brand name for the generic alprazolam. So the Xanax and the hydroxyzine are two completely different drugs. Xanax is a benzodiazepine which is used to treat anxiety and panic disorder while hydroxyzine is an antihistamine used to treat allergy like symptoms as well as used for treating anxiety and tension.
Xanax is addictive compared to hydroxyzine although the hydroxyzine could become habit forming due to its anti anxiety properties.
