Would u prefer one of the three colors over the others? Same strength, same time of lasting relief?
What are the differences in the 3 colors that Xanax bars come in, white, yellow & green?

The white ones are name brand, hence the XANAX printed across both the bar and the prescription rather than alprazolam. Although the dosage is the same as the generic alprazolam bars, they are significantly more potent due to a difference in ingredients. They are much more expensive than the generic counterpart and he reason is a difference in ingredients. Although active ingredients are the same for Xanax and alprazolam (benzodiazepine) the effects are noticeably different. All bars are 2 milligrams scored to be made divisible into 4 doses of .5mg to allow the patient to decide the best route based on the intensity of the panic/anxiety. Green and yellow bars are generic (alprazolam) which are very effective, but different from the name brand XANAX. The difference between these two is manufacturer. Ask your pharmacist if you’re insurance would cover name brands.
Pharmacies are instructed to give generics whenever possible, however, unless specifically indicated by the prescriber you have the option to request name brands and they are legally obligated to honor the request. Be aware-if you’re insurance does not allow such substitutions, the price difference is far higher. Generic-20$ name brand-200$( without insurance). I hope this has been informative. Personally-go name brand. Blue cross, Cigna, and most major insurance companies allow such substitutions to be covered and again... there is a SIGNIFICANT difference. All generics are the same, they have the same active ingredient as xanax, which is alprazolam. Alprazolam is a member of the class of medications known as benzodiazepines. So think of it as dogs as a whole; there are german shepherds, pitbulls, etc. Think of benzodiazepines as dogs, they are a whole group, or family; think of alprazolam, which is the active ingredient in xanax (xanax is a name brand for the chemical alprazolam, similar to how Oreo is the name brand for sandwich cookies) as german shepherds, it is a part of the whole group or family. Essentially the point I'm making is that benzodiazepines are a class of sedative, anxiolytic, or hypnotic drugs, and each drug (clonazepam, triazolam, lorazepam, oxazepam, alprazolam) has their own profile of those three effects (and a few more).
Generics are equivalent in active ingredient to the brand name drug, how the drug functions in the body, have to also be identical in strength/dosage and administration, meet the same standards for identity, strength, purity, and quality, and be made by the same rules the FDA has set for the brand-name drug. This rule is enforced under federal law by the FDA, and sometimes the DEA gets involved for whatever reason, any company making an exception is liable for anything that goes wrong, can face jail time for fraud, and can be fined HEAVILY, so they don't really see cheating customers as worth it. The effects the user feels are the same for all generics and name brand drugs. One may feel that some are different, but they are not, this is a psychological event called confirmation bias, which is nothing major, every human experiences it at some point, some more frequently than others.
ALSO the thing you said about 'requesting name brand' thats generally something only a doctor, or other prescriber can do. It's a state law, but in most states the pharmacy will give you what you get and too bad if you get upset, it's up to the doctor in those states, and that's a good thing. Please do some research before you give people false information. I don't want to be rude, but people have the right to get the correct information on this stuff, it's very important. Stay safe out there kids, and don't forget to stay hydrated.

The Xanax football shaped pills are as such...
0.25mg = White
0.50mg= Peach
1.00mg= Blue or green
All of the bars regardless of color are 2.00mg. White I believe is the brand name and yellow is the generic and I might be mistaken but my understanding is the green one has no caffeine as a filler
Here in the USA, it has been my experience that the white ones are .25mg, peach colored ones are .50mg and blue ones are 1.0mg. These are the ones I have been prescribed and the same is true for the generic version. Brand is football shaped and generic is round. I do not know which manufactuer makes these, but, I do know it is the same, colors, mg, etc wherever I fill my prescription. Hope this is of some help. Best wishes, Chelle
No such thing as a round Xanax. Generic or otherwise.
yes there are round ones
There are round ones. I got blue 1 mg round ones from the pharmacy once.
There are round Xanax
There are even round 2mg xanax manufactured by Mylan but that's the only pharmaceutical company I don't trust. And that's coming from a guy that believes in the federal equivalent generics law. Something fishy about Mylan, they should be under FDA investigation.
The green ones don't work for crap they don't take away your anxiety the white bars are the ones that actually work trust me I've been on them for 16 years
This is an example of confirmation bias. All generics are the same and regulated by federal law. Stop spreading false information, just keep it to yourself. Sorry if this comes off as rude, but people should have correct information. Unless there is some deep state conspiracy, all generics in the US are the same. Except Mylan, I've never had a product of their's that didn't get me sick, and that ranges from Xanax, to buprenorphine/naloxone, to gabapentin, to antibiotics. That company in general sucks, probably something to do with their manufacturing sanitation standards. Either way, stay safe and stay hydrated.
A lot of the time, if you are in the United States, many manufacturers make the same generic drug once the patent on the brand runs out. That is why you can get same medication at the same pharmacy every time and every time they can look different. Each Manufacturer has their own way they make the medication and the can make it whatever color they want. I don't know if that helped or not, but if you are concerned about the colors of the medications then go and talk to the pharmacist! They will be able to tell you if they use multiple manufacturers.
