The responses here completely miss the point of the question. Yes they should consult a doctor, it's a given.
The point is XL can only be taken once daily, either 150mg or 300mg. For those on the 300mg, sometimes the 300mg bottles are in shortage/unavailable. In this case, would it be okay to buy the 150mg and just take 2 pills in the morning instead of 1 300mg ? Is it the same as taking one 300mg pill ?
I personally hope to get an insightful answer for this. Thanks
I would ask your doctor first. When I was prescribed my doctor told me he couldn't right away give me the 300 mg because of "insurance purposes". But day 7 I was taking two 150 mg but he told me that was okay to do. I love it, and I don't know where I would be without it. how long have you been on the 150 mg? I lasted a week. Call your doctor and get them to change to 300 mg!
Do not increase on your own, talk to your doctor first.
Consult Doctor or pharmacist about change instant increase may cause extra unwanted side effect be careful please consult GP before self diagnosis your change in dosage.
Consult your doctor if you haven't already before you increase your dose. It's best to take both doses at the same time. Generally in the morning because Wellbutrin is a stimulant and could keep you awake later if taken at night.
Best wishes,
Rose
Wellbutrin XL is taken once a day. But do not increase without first discussing with your doctor.
