I started 50mg of sertraline for anxiety, low mood and mild depression. I’m currently in week 6. In the beginning I had every side effect going but most of them have eased up but I’m still up and down like a roller coaster, still getting anxiety and have no energy most of the time. Is this the right medication for me? From what I’ve read in the reviews in can take some people longer than others.
Anybody that has been through something similar I’d like to hear from you. TIA
I’m in week 6 of sertraline and still struggling with anxiety and no energy?

50mg is a low dose. The therapeutic dose is 50-200mg. You still have room to tweak the dose up a bit. Also, it takes 6-8 weeks for the full effects. So, you should definitely speak with your health care provider. Maybe an increase will be beneficial.
Tyrese
For some users it can take up to 12 weeks.
Thanks tyrese, when you up your dose do you go through all the same side affects as the first time? I’m hoping that I’m just taking a little longer to adapt and that the 50mg will work for me. I’m starting a new job in the next few weeks and really worried that upping my dose will completely mess me up again.
Yes an increase may cause some new side effects temporarily. You won’t necessarily go through “all” side effects but it’s possible to experience a few, depends how quickly your metabolism adapt to the extra dose. But it’s seem like you are still struggling on 50mg with side effects, so you should address your concerns to the doctor before increasing and he/she will know what to do, okay?
Yes ok thanks for your help ☺️
