it's weird, on Vyvanse. it returned my energy with a desire to do things, instead of being lazy. Now at 70 mg. I have patience to sit down and do my work, but no energy to go out and do things. I guess maybe that's as good as it going to get? I don't want to keep annoying my doctor and asking I want this, and this , bcause this vyvanse works and will help me a lot this year with school, I justs want my energy back as well and I thought it was coming back after 50mg and 60mg, that's what made me , me.
Vyavnse isn't taking away my energy either. I haven't had energy in 3 years. but Vyvanse is helping with keeping me awake through out the day, but that's it and I feel a decrease in energy at 70mg, 60 mg I had more.
so, 70 mg has helped me have more patience to study and learn ,but not helping me leave the house, or do work outs etc. Should I just stayon this for a few months?
I heard for an example like Adderall, there's a different chemical in that med compared to Vyvanse, and that;s why people have different effects to each ADHD med. so I am wondering, would that give me both, or is it one or the other, focus without energy, or energy without focus?
I see my doctor next week, but wanted to see if this is even positive or I should give the medication a chance. I just went up on dose about a week and a half ago to 70mg and I've been on Vyvanse for over 2 months now.
I do feel more sociable, confident, eye contact when talking and a feeling of being more mature on this med though, so I am not complaining. I just have this feeling, I can do more if i had my energy back with this focus.
I like Vyvanse but want more energy with the same effects?

I totally understand what you mean. I’m having the same problem. I think it’s called the ‘vyvanse crash’. You can still focus but your energy is gone. My doctor at my last visit mentioned possibly having to start an afternoon, once a day dose of short acting Adderall in addition to my 70mg 8am vyvanse dose. I haven’t tried that yet but possibly might have to in the future. Good luck!
I'm on 40 mg and the only side effects I'm getting is using the restroom alot and alert to things I don't think this medication gives you energy I think if u already have energy it's makes you more alert but bowel movement and not eating plays a huge part in this medication
Not eating has nothing to do with vyvanse.
Energy Focus ..Focus Energy...
I'm in the exact same boat .. but my day requires me to teach courses in groups of 10 + on learning to be a Health Coach ... Also, social marketing and advertising with raising my 8 yr old Daughter etc...
My day requires a lot of focus and energy ... I am a lot older than you I'm thinking ... in my 40's... So my energy level has declined with age ...
I am talking with my Physician today on this subject ...
I have a very close relationship with my Dr .. everyone needs to if you want your life to stay on track being on these types of meds ...
Good luck to you ... Best Wishes on School ...

Drink coffee after taking your Vyvanse but not too much because you wont be able to sleep and if you're not healthy (over-weight) ask your dr first. I've been on Vyvanse for over 8yrs and reached a plateau with my medication, until I drank coffee with my 50mg pill and I was up for like 24 hrs. Keep in mind that Vyvanse isn't supposed to give you energy, it's supposed to keep you focused.
Dear DOMO79,
I just want to say I agree with Laura too, and I want to encourage you and tell you to hang in there. I know it's frusturating. I was in a similar situation myself. It will work out. Just be patient. And yes... you are a special person. Ruthie
Hello DOMO79. Laura gave a solid answer. Not going to add anything to her response, as I did earlier on a few posts ago. Take care and hopefully it will all come together. Regards pledge
Domo,
You are correct, Vyvanase or whatever you are now taking is a lot different from Adderall. Adderall is amphetamine salts, although it makes me sleepy, when I was awake, I was focused on task completion and turned into a social butterfly.
Actually, you may do better on this med.
When you see the doc, tell him exactly what you related here and ask if there might be a solution to your problem. As far as I personally know, he has two choices, Adderall or Ritalin. Both did the job for me just different side effects.
Happy, happy ... let your doc make the decision ... its all good.
Peace,
Sweet Hippie
Thank you, so it is possible to have more energy and focus at the same time? I use to have a lot of energy, but over the years it declined, and the past 3 years I was sleeping 14 hour days after I quite drinking. I started Vyvanse for the first time and also trying an ADHD medication, and I wish I new about this earlier on in life. I wouldn't be so far behind in academics or career wise. But I plan to change all that this year.
I noticed with Vyvanse, it gave me both energy, motivation to do things and focus. The focus wasn't good for reading at 60mg but perfect for lectures and looking things up. and now 70mg, I am locked in front of my studies for 10 hours, not complaining, thats what i wanted, but I am tired to do anything else and I just want to see if this is the best I can get or I let the doctor know this? I want both energy and focus. I can be more productive in being out doors, doing other things such as working out, etc.
and having energy makes me feel like me. I was always was a great worker because I could work as fast as 3 people put together. now if I can put this focus with it. I would be unstoppable. also I have noticed, this medication makes me feel very cocky or way to confident. I like it at times, but then sometimes I'm like,I don't like the way I act, but this medication also makes me feel more like an adult compared to before when I wasnt on it, I couldnt look people in the eyes, I spaced out, I felt weird around people and even my voice is deeper. I will bring it up with my doctor but I dont see her until Friday. I wanted to see if anybody had this problem.or experienced these things
also, Is 70mg a lot for somebody weighting 130 pounds. I hear people at 200 pounds or so on 30-40 mg. I feel perfectly fine, no symptoms besides being thirsty and tired some days being on 70 mg of vyvanse.
Remember this, every body is different and reacts to meds in their own way. There is no 100% in medicine.
You are a special person.
Just sayin',
Hippie
