I am on week 2 of viibryd. also on 300mg 2x day gabapentin and 1mg xanax xr x2 day. i've started getting frequent urges to pee. i went to see my urologist and got a clean bill of health. i have read that viibryd CAN have a chance at giving you the frequent urge to pee... is this a permanat thing? or will it go away with usage? otherwise 20mg viibryd seems to be working for me. just cant stand feeling like i have to pee every 20min-1hr

I have been on Viibryd for many years and never experienced this side effect. I do experience the side effect now that I am older and also as a result of another medication that was added (Atomoxetine) recently. I suggest giving the Viibryd a couple of more weeks. You then might know if Viibryd is therapeutic and the side effect may lessen in intensity or You may be willing to put up with it. Viibryd is the only anti-depressant that has ever worked for me. And though it is not "approved" as an anti-anxiety med, I believe it has that benefit as well, at least for me.
All the best and take care for now.

I am on week 2 of viibryd and am experiencing the urgency to pee often also. I scheduled an appointment with my urologist because I was concerned I have a UTI. However I have no other symptoms besides frequently. Did you discover the medication was causing this problem?

Update: I discontinued the Viibryd and the urinary frequency and urgency completely disappeared. So I believe the medication was causing this problem. Thanks for the responses to my question.

With a side effect like an overactive bladder these symptoms are most likely a result of the drug and will go away as the drug is absolved from your body. Viibryd may not be the best drug for you. Consulting your doctor or pharmacist would be a commendable option.

Also; I would ask your doctor about gabapentin and xanax. I exluded those on accident, sorry.

Possibly, I don't know much about that drug in particular, but as a side note; frequent urination may be a sign of urinary tract infection. You might want to check that out, taking the drugs could be just a coincidence. I would just ask your medical adviser whether or not it will, I am not completely sure how Viibryd works :)
