Is there any suggestion as to how to make it easier. I'm 73 years old and I just paid for a 90 day supply and I can't use them. I usually poke myself in the eye trying to squeeze the contents out of the vial.
They are very hard to squeeze out of the plastic vial?

I thought I was on the "Restasis" account, those are the eye drops I'm talking about.
Also, they do not drop out of the vial on their own, if they did, I would not be having a problem.

Hi. I have a prescription for this type of eye drop. I'm not sure, but I believe it is because they do not have a preservative in them. If they were exposed to elements they would probably spoil very quickly. Apparently, they have a series of blocking dams in the dispensing canister that keep outside air out and only open when a significant amount of pressure is exerted on the bottle.
For all you "Tip the Bottle and Tap on it" people. That ain't gonna happen. So give that one up.
This poster is correct. This medicine packaging is terrible.
Some eye drops you aren't supposed to squeeze you're supposed to hold it upside down and wait for the drop. If you squeeze you get too much.

what medicine?
Restasis
Take the bottle up to your pharmacist and tell him/her that you are having trouble and have them help you. This is the kind of thing that pharmacists do that most people do not think of. They will show you what to do.
Some of those little bottles are hard and dont squeeze. You can try holding it above your eye and gently tap the bottom of the bottle with your pointer finger. The tap will sometimes get a drop to fall. To instill a drop, gently retract your lower lid with your left hand and hold the bottle in your right hand (if you are right handed-if you are left handed, vice versa!), put the tip of the bottle above and toward the inner corner of your eye but DO NOT touch the eye with the dropper tip-kind of positioned so the drop falls in the little pocket you created when you pulled the lower lid down. Once you are positioned look up like you are trying to look over the top of your head and away from the dropper tip. If you look at the tip, you will blink out the drop every time. Look back like you are trying to see over the top of your head and then tap the bottle gently (dont tap hard enough to poke yourself in the eye though).
You want the drop to fall into the pocket you made when you gently pulled your lower lid down, not onto your eyeball. This will help to keep your from blinking. If you cant get it in holding it above the inner corner, hold it above the area of lid that is retracted. If tapping the bottle doesnt bring a drop then you will need the pharmacists help for sure.
