I have a relative who is bipolar and she is having trouble with getting on the right antidepressant. Was wondering if Effexor would help her?
Venlafaxine - Has anyone with biolar condition taken Effexor and did it help?

Hi, Trudy!
I took Effexor very successfully for a long time but I began having manic episodes so I had to stop it and avoid any SSRI's or SNRI's. I now take Wellbutrin (bupropion) which is an atypical antidepressant along with my other Bipolar meds.
I wish that I could have continued taking my Effexor because it was really the best medication I tried.
