After a bout of diarrhea, it's important to give your system a chance to recover. These guidelines will help.
Drink plenty of clear liquids or, preferably, oral rehydration solutions, available at most pharmacies. Oral rehydration solutions are liquids that contain a carbohydrate (glucose or rice syrup) and electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride, and citrate or bicarbonate).
For a few days, try to avoid foods high in sugar and foods rich in fiber. All of these can increase the frequency of diarrhea.
Stay away from caffeine, alcohol, milk, and other dairy products; avoid fruits, green vegetables, and fatty or spicy foods for a few days.
