I started taking 100mg at bedtime 3 years ago for depression and anxiety. I’m also taking Lexapro for the last 10 years. I developed a hand tremor when I added trazodone. Was diagnosed with primary essential tremor. Could it be caused by the SSRI’s? I am taking propranolol 3 times a day, which helps.
Can trazodone cause tremors?

You said you have been taking trazodone for 3 years but you didn't say when your hand tremors began. If they started within 2 months of beginning trazodone, there could be a correlation. But, if your hand tremors started after that time, they are probably unrelated to trazodone. When did you start propranolol? I wonder if that might be related to your tremors. Did the same psych doc prescribe all three meds? You might be over-medicated. Your best move will be to contact your doc and report your symptoms. He/she may adjust the dosage of one of your meds, discontinue one of your meds, or try you on a new med. Personally, i've been taking moderate dosages of both Lexapro and trazodone for only 4 months. All my side effects disappeared after 4 weeks, but I've been concerned that one of them might stop working at some point. Hearing that you've had long term success gives me encouragement.
