Hello, my diabetic husband being treated for depression (GAD), anxiety, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, mental illness including the personality disorders: BPD and Avoidant Personality Disorder; and fibromyalgia was on the maximum dose (UK) for tramadol to manage the pain associated with fibromyalgia.
He did this against my will, but ultimately that was his choice. He became impotent, lethargic, and increasingly agitated and more verbally abusive nasty/cruel etc than had been his normal personality. Has anyone else experienced esp. the aggressive behaviours in patients using the drug Tramadol? Any information will be hugely appreciated, as I am still struggling to understand what happened to my now ex-husband who refused to accept how belligerent he became.
Thank you

Tina; Yes what is going on with your husband could very well be from the Tramadol and also he is on the stronger ones and he may very well regret it, Some people really have a battle getting off of it. These things were not even known about this medication when they first started using it and it can also be a bad mix with his mental health drugs it does have an effect like a mood stabilizer SSRI. But you and the husband should make sure you write down all of his medications Including otc medications like vitamins herbal meds anything that he might be taking and have the doctor look for interactions between the medication and he or you should let the doctor know what is happening to him while he has been on the Tramadol it very well can mess with your mental state. and make you downright mean. etc. good luck to you Chuck1957 you guys have a Happy New year.
