My system is very sensitive, so I was wondering if I might take half of a 4mg tablet.
Can Tizanidine tablets be cut in twos for dosage, or does it have to be swallowed whole?

Tizanidine isnt a long acting or controlled release drug so it should be okay for you to cut a 4mg tab in half and to take 2mg if you feel that the 4mg is too much. I, myself, found that tizanidine made me extremely sleepy. If I took a 4mg tab, I would drop right off to sleep. If I tried to stay awake, I would nod out while sitting up! Not everyone gets this sleepy. I know other people who take tizanidine and dont get sleepy at all, or very little, from them. I could only take them at bedtime but they did help me get to sleep nicely. I eventually switched back to Soma so I could take one in the daytime, if I needed to because Soma doesnt make me nearly as sleepy. But in answer to your question, yes, you can cut one in half.
Thank you so much! I feel confident now about taking this new medication. I wanted to be sure because my system is super sensitive, so normal dosage is not an option for me. Sorry for taking a while to post, but here is my thank you!
