How do u get on with the buspar do u think it helps?
Hi Mcroberts
My shrink finally put me back on buspar at my request..my family doctor put me on it because I asked him to after seeing it helped my mom..my shrink took me off it..I think at 15mg twice a day it helps me chill some My shrink put me on Effexor..and could not tolerate the dose he wanted me to take even had problems at 37.5mg Xr a day..however, after adding the Buspar, find it helps stop the spaced out feeling the Effexor was giving me..and now with the Effexor and Buspar feel better in the morning then I did for years!
Sincerely,
Jerry
Went to see psych yesterday and she won't put me on anything else but the sertlaine and Mirtazipine. I'm going to try hypnosis 2 day. Will try anything
I take both Lemon Balm and L-theanine. I could not sleep without my Lemon Balm tea in the evening and often have some during the daytime if my anxiety is up.
The L-theanine is more of a mood stablizer and helps with the irritability I get. I can become very moody and lose my temper when the anxiety is bad. I find that as long as I take 100-200mg of L-theanine first thing in the morning with a full glass of water before eating anything then I don't get so moody or angry during the day. If I don't get moody I don't seem to get so anxious so I would say that it helps.
The Valerian is supposed to be calming as well. I have not tried it but I have had Passionflower and it is very relaxing.
Hope that helps.
Take care
Hi lady2882
Thank you for your comments The life extension product I take I feel is useful but expensive Yes. L theanine has many interesting effects!

I take L Theanine in the morning also for anxiety. It is very helpful... I have been taking it now for over a year every day with no side effects. However I decided to discontinue the every day use and take it only twice weekly. This presented a problem because I am now physically dependent on Theanine. I want to caution you and others about becoming dependent on this amino acid. I am weaning myself off of this supplement slowly. I do intend to use it in the future but only short term... like for two months twice a week. I have a blog on wordpress. com about anxiety disorder check it out... anxiousnessblog.com
I took it for about 6 months then just stopped taking it without any problems at all. Since it is found naturally in some foods if you are eating a balanced diet there should not be a problem stopping it unless you were taking extremely high doses.
Hi Lady 2882,
I have not taken high doses of L Theanine just 150 or 200 mgs. once a day in the morning. It really relaxed me for the day. I realize it is in green tea but the concentrated amount in the tablets I take has more of the theanine in them than you get in the tea or some foods. There is no comparison. I noticed a dramatic difference when I stopped taking my morning tablet. I was jumpy, and jittery without the L Theanine. I will wean myself off of the daily dosage slowly and take it only twice a week... at least that is my plan. Thanks for getting back to me. Your feedback was helpful. Oh I have taken Valerian and Passion Flower... both of these herbs are very powerful. Valerian will put you to sleep fast and you will stay asleep through the night. Please try it and let me know how it works for you? How are you doing with the Buspar? How does it make you feel? Take Care and be well
Hello jerst, I have not tried L Theanine or lemon balm however I have tried Gaba which contains L Tyrosine and Taurine, as well as Gaba but I must say, concentrating on your breath helps anxiety a great deal because you may not realize it but you probably hold your breath a lot when you're stressed. I know I do, and making sure I am breathing right helps and keeps you focused on the moment. I hope this helps!
Hi libraheart
Thank
you for the info about breathing properly when stressed!
Sincerely,
Jerry
