I take Risperdal .50 mg and will start to take .25 mg starting today for 1 month to get pregnant in April. After 1 month how should I continue the tapering since .25 is the lowest dose and I don’t think is a good idea to cut it in half because the pill is too small. Should I take it every other day until I stop completely? Please advise. Thanks

My personal reduction off of Risperdal was that I just kept cutting my pills in half for a certain amount of time recommended by my doctor (generally 1-2 weeks). Taking it every other day at a higher dose is almost like not reducing because you are putting a higher dose in after reducing a day. If that makes sense. It's better to just reduce steadily until your doctor feels you can discontinue it completely.
