I have just called my doctor to report yeast infection after 10 days of meds. The
nurse did not think it would cause it, so will talk to the doctor.

Xifaxan (rifaximin) is an antibiotic that fights bacterial infection only in the intestines. Xifaxan is used to treat travelers' diarrhea caused by E. coli in adults and children who are at least 12 years old. Most people get this infection by eating food or drinking fluids that have been contaminated with the bacteria.
Yes, it is possible that taking Xifaxan has caused the yeast infection (candida).
