If I'm taking low dose of thyroid medicine, will I lose weight or cause harm to myself?

Hi Mary, if your Thyroid hormone levels are normal, you could well do yourself harm. Thyroid medicine has no place, in a weight loss regime, in a normal person, nor does it have any off-label uses.
