on 10mg of Zolpidem. I am wary about the change because the zopiclone works. Can anybody please tell me if they think Zolpidem is a good alternative. I would appreciate any feedback as I'm a bit worried about the swap over. Thanks
I have been taking 15mg Zopiclone for 7 years and now my Doctor has put me?

FLINT16; from what I have been reading in several places the one you were on is an International drug and is quite similar to what the ZOLPIDEM 5 OR 10MG remember you can't judge the milligram's because they are 2 different medications. But both work and are very effective. But I do want to warn you as you know you should not mix alcohol with either one of these medications. And also because you have been on the Zopiclone for 7 years. Sometimes it may take a day or two to get the best benefit out of the new one. Zolpidem. Myself I would not worry at all. This is one of the most effective sleep meds. in the U.SA. AND I BELIEVE IN Canada. You should have no problems at all and don't worry that we'll just make it harder to see how it works if you get all wound up. And if worse comes to worse you could go back to your doctor and let him or her know that the new one does not work as well as the one you have been taking for so many years. But I hope I'm right and you should even get better sleep. I hope this helps you some and you are able to relax and get some good sleep.
all my best to you. Please give it a try. And remember what I said about getting to wound up that the pill does not work at the full benefit that it should. rest in peace.
Flint16; Side note remembers to go into this open minded this is one of the most prescribed sleep aid's in the U.S.A. with really no problems at all. So give it a try and I hope you well have as good of success as I have also.
Thanks chuck1957. I really appreciate your' response. I start taking it next week when I pick up my 'script so I will keep you informed as to how I get on with them. The advice I have taken on board, I'll keep an open mind and stay calm. And hope for the best! Thanks again
Hi Chuck1957, hope you are well. Just to let you know how I am getting on with the Zolpidem 10mg. Not very well Im afraid. I am taking the prescribed dose and I cannot seem to sleep at all. I am just lying in bed in like a weird state, not sleeping but just feeling a bit 'zonked'. I am even dreaming but I know I am awake, its a bit weird. In the mornings my head is a bit buzzy (like a jar full of wasps) and I am a bit dizzy for a couple of hours. Is this normal. I reverted to my emergency supply of Zopiclone last night 2 x 7.5mg and I had a great sleep. Do you think I should give it more time with the Zolpidem.
fLINT; i AM AT A LOSS IT SAYS THEY ARE VERY SIMULAR BUT I DON'T BELIEVE IT YOU SHOULD START TO WARM UP THE DOCTOR THAT THE zOLPIDEM IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. aND CAN HE SEND IN A PRESCRIPTION FOR THE ONLY ONE THAT SEEMS TO WORK zOPICLONE IN THE MEAN TIME IF ANYTHING TAKE ONE zolpidem nothing in 2 to 3 hours take the other but only one and see how you sleep then. But just call the doctor and say how goofy these new ones make you feel and your wide awake but like stuck in the body and hear ears ringing etc. why can't we get what worked I AM DESPERATE. GIVE IT A TRY. cHUCK1957 SORRY NOT GOOD DAY EYES ARE BAD.
Thanks a lot chuck1957, your' comments appreciated and taken on board. I am going to give it one more go tonight and see what happens. If I'm still not getting anything from them I will ask them to double the dose or like you say, put me back on the Zopiclone. Hope your' day gets better. Take care
Great flint, I think that is about the best we can do now. And really see what is going on with the two different pills. So try to hang in there and hopefully it just might work tonight. And if not call the doctor in the morning. Best of luck Chuck.1957
