It's recommended to take them at least 4 hours before levothyroxine. This class of heartburn and GERD medications includes omeprazole, pantoprazole (Protonix), and esomeprazole (Nexium). Since these medications lower the acidity of the stomach, they can lower the absorption of levothyroxine.
