My doctor has prescribed Symbicort 160/4.5 1 puff twice a day. When I get sick, I am to do 2 puffs twice a day as well as budesonide and levalbuterol nebulizers 2-4 times a day as needed. I asked about budesonide ingredient in the Symbicort plus using it as a nebulizer and was told it was fine-that I needed the extra steroid as I always end up with bronchitis. Am I crazy to think this is too much budesonide to be uses concurrently?
Symbicort inhaler and budesonide (Pulmicort) nebulizer?

Answers
Follow the advice of your doctor. Patients often don't realise how severe their airways are until it is too late. High dose inhaled steroids reduces inflammation in the airways of patients who suffer from asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
