Boniva (Ibandronate) belongs to a class of drugs called bisphosphonates. Bisphosphonates alter bone formation and bone breakdown in the body. They slow bone loss and may help prevent bone fractures.
Boniva is used to treat or prevent osteoporosis in women after menopause.
I would recommend that you do not take your dose until tomorrow. There is concern that the coffee could interfere with the absorption of Boniva. Absorption of ibandronate from the intestine is poor, and any potential further decrease in absorption by food or coffee should be avoided.
