Can 5-fluorouracil solution applied to scalp cause hair loss?

My doctor has prescrbed 5-fluorouracil solution for my scalp twice per day for two weeks. I am a female with thin hair. I don't want to lose anymore. Does anyone have experience with this?

I have been using fluorouracil cream for five days.. I have not seen much change.. When should I?
