I stopped taking omega 3 about a month ago , and now have bad joint pain in my elbows. Is this related to stopping the med. I was taking 1000mg twice a day.
What if I suddenly stop using omega 3 pills?

I know that I think it helps with my joints but have never stopped taking it to see for sure as I take it as a preventative for macular degeneration.
I would try taking it again to see if things improved if it were me.
Vitamins C, E, betaceratine and the mineral Zinc are the vitamins and minerals you should take for your macular health or just take PreserVision (AREDS) vitamins as directed on the packaging if you don't want to purchase a bunch of different bottles of vitamins, PreserVision is already formulated amounts for your eyes!
I have worked in Retinal Specialty practices for years and that's what we recommend :-) as far as stopping Omega 3, shouldn't have a problem with that at all. Doesn't cause increased pain when discontinued! Good luck!
I looked up PreserVision AREDS and it says that it is for the treatment of macular degeneration. I don't have macular degeneration but it does run in the family hence I take the omega 3 which has been proven to prevent the onset of the disease. .As a nice side effect I noticed an improvement in my arthritis about 2 weeks after starting the omega 3. I didn't say stopping it would cause pain.
Shouldn't matter.
