Any opiate you stay on is leading you towards a nightmare. Even Buprenorphine aka Subutex or Suboxone cause tolerance to form after 10 or more years. So even if he gives you Butrans and you stay on it for years and years eventually you will have a problem. Can you live with non opiate pain killers? Have you tried the Lidoderm patches, they help me a lot.
Btw, Tramadol is also addictive. Many docs don't know it is but many people can assure you it is.
Hi Daysleaper,
I'm sorry you are going through this.
I know the answer to this but I want to ask...
Why does he think you are no longer having pain?
He did surgery to help you which failed.
What would his response be?
Tramadol is a possibility but it's totally different than the opioids.
:-)
